The ideal candidate for this position has previous experience preparing a varied menu, enjoys working in a busy restaurant environment and is capable of taking and giving direction well and multi-tasking effectively. If you have a passion for food and hospitality this might be the job for you.Job duties include but are not limited to:
Work closely with the General Manager to ensure that food quality, inventory, and orders are maintained.
Manage and refine menu costing.
Practice and enforce proper food storage safety, allergy awareness, compliance with health department code, and all other safety and security policies and procedures.
Oversee all work stations, often assisting in completing daily prep and working on each station.
Enforce quality control of food at all times. Coordinate with the General Manager on proper food preparation, execution, and plate presentation.
Management of all culinary staff to include but not limited to; weekly scheduling, hiring, discipline/coach and counseling, performance evaluations, and all training necessary to ensure smooth operation of the culinary department
Actively train culinary employees.
In addition to the regular execution of restaurant operations, also assist in the execution of special events, private parties, and banquets.
Assist in the development of daily specials, special menus for promotions and holidays, quarterly menu changes, and other specialty menu items.
Actively communicate with the General Manager on all operational needs, guest complaints, recommendations, employee issues, etc.
Regularly work as a culinary team member by expressing mastery of each culinary station in the kitchen.
Flexibility to work nights or mornings, weekends, holidays, and busy seasonal days (i.e. town festivals or powder days).
Qualifications:
8+years’ experience in foodservice and hospitality arena
Well-versed in preparing food items consistently while adhering to recipe standards
Highly skilled in setting up stations in the restaurant
Committed to practice, checking, and strengthening food safety procedures
Competent at creating and upholding a safe working environment
Able to re-stock all items as required all through shift
Proven record of delivering outstanding customer service
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with patrons and staff
Good math and written communication skills
Track record of working in a flexible timetable based on employers’ requirements
Eager to perform all kinds of additional tasks assigned by the General Manager
Proficient in maintaining a safe working environment utilizing food safety plan
Proficient in culinary history and world cuisine including current food trends
Basic mastery of cooking methods and techniques
Track record of working efficiently in a fast-paced and noisy environment
