Bike Tech - $15/hr (starting)

Pioneer Sports is one of Colorado's finest bike, ski, and snowboard rental shops. We have been serving Summit County's guests and locals since 1980. We continue to offer convenient locations, quality goods and services, and a strong commitment to making our customer's ski days memorable.

Job Outline:

- Part time or full time

- Care and upkeep of customer and rental fleet bikes

- Working under shop manager, encouraged to learn from his experience

- Wrenching on all types of bikes; Road, Mtn, Cruisers, E-Bikes, Hybrids, Kids, etc.

- Good customer service. Must be able to communicate fluently with customers and understand that if the customer isnt leaving happy you havent done your job correctly.

- May be asked to help with bike fitting/renting on a busy day.

Qualifications/requirements:

1. Job Experience- MUST have bike shop technician experience. Teching and wrenching on your own bike WILL NOT be accepted. Knowing a wide variety of parts, components, and shop procedures and how they differ from home bike upkeep is essential.

2. Education- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

3. Reasoning Ability/problem solving- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

4. Language Skills- In English, the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

5. Lifting and Caution- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and have the ability to show caution while handling bikes in regards to sharp metal objects or parts of the bike.
