Find your future with us.The Boeing AvionX team is looking for a well-rounded Systems Engineer - Urban Air Mobility Computing ( Senior or Subject Matter Expert) to support our joint venture with Wisk. As part of the Boeing AvionX team you will serve a vital role in all phases of product development from concept to operation. - Guide all phases of Systems Engineering (concept of operations, shaping system requirements, shaping product requirements, functional analysis, product design and synthesis, safety and certification, integration and test, verification, and validation)
- Act as direct conduit between the Chief Engineer and the Systems Engineering Team
- Decompose work and distribute amongst appropriate members of the SEIT Team
- Translate higher-level requirements from the platform level into the product design and development efforts
- Lead the requirements capture, requirement definition, requirements validation, functional analysis, and interface definition of target systems
- Closely integrate with the Wisk platform engineering team and represent the Boeing AvionX SEIT Team
- Assist Engineering Management in developing technical plans, budgets, resource requirements, and risk & opportunity assessments
- Develop products through a disciplined development process to meet or exceed customer/partner expectations during all phases of the product life cycle
- Participates in collaborative decision making with the product team. Ensure that Program objectives and technical expectations are met
- Participate in review and assessment of scope change requests
- Lead and support trade studies, early validation, requirements capture, verification, risk management, change management, design to cost, technical performance measures, and traceability
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
- 6+ years of systems engineering experience
- 6+ years in product development experience
- Travel both domestically and internationally
- Level 5: 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 10+ years of systems engineering experience in modular product development
- 3+ years of experience with Safety Critical Avionics design and development
- 3+ years of experience working with customers/partners to define system level requirements
- 3+ years of experience supporting Avionics design and development
- Understanding of ARP4754, ARP4761, MIL-HDBK-516C, and/or MIL-STD-882E
- Understanding of DO-254, DO-178C, and/or DO-297
- Understanding of Specialty Systems Engineering such as Safety, Certification, Human Factors, Testability, Reliability and Maintainability
