Job Description

The Terrain Park Supervisor works alongside the Snowmass & Buttermilk Terrain Park Director in management of all Terrain Park staff including grooming staff. The Terrain Park Supervisor focuses on park design, staff efficiencies and park maintenance standards, takes the lead during special events including X Games, Red Bull Training Camps and film shoots, and assists with administrative duties as required.

The budgeted range for this position starts at $47,476. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions Supervise day crew in daily maintenance of parks including raking, shoveling, salting and setting up/breaking down banners, flags, signage, fencing, etc. Takes lead on design, creativity and build of parks Ability to operate a snowcat to build and place features Insure that features and parks are inspected daily; close features/parks as necessary for safety Promote terrain park etiquette and guest relations within terrain parks and with staff Maintains relationship and effective cross-communication between on-mountain departments Interact with Ski Patrol on a daily basis to discuss any safety issues, report guest injuries and assist at accident scene; complete paperwork as needed Works closely with event and MKTG staff during special events, competitions, athlete camps and photo shoots in regards to build, set up, staffing, maintenance and break down Assist with on the job training for terrain park workers and groomers Monitor performance of staff and provide timely feedback, assists with various tasks including scheduling, timekeeping, discipline and documentation and employee reviews Provide clear and concise communication with staff when assigning tasks and projects Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

18 years of age or older required High school diploma or equivalent required Valid driver’s license required Fluent in English; some Spanish helpful Excellent communication skills – verbal and written Able to shovel and rake snow for extended periods of time in variable weather conditions Prior experience in terrain parks, preferably as lead Snow cat driving experience preferred Working knowledge of park layout/design and park event experience Proficient at Google Sketch Up and able to implement creative designs into plans Basic computer skills – Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) Rail fabrication experience preferred First Aid certification preferred

Supervision Given and ReceivedSupervision Given: Exercises direct supervision over Terrain Park Workers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, frequent and detailed review of work, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Supervision Received: Works under direct supervision of the Terrain Park Director. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.

Work Environment and Physical DemandsAbility to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend or be on your feet for extended periods of time Regularly work in wet, cold, hot conditions requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfacesMust be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
