Maxar is currently seeking an Automation Test Engineer to join our Spacecraft Engineering Simulation team in Westminster, CO.

Your Project: The Spacecraft Engineering Simulation team is responsible for running and integrating the Worldview Legion spacecraft simulator to the Maxar ground system. In this role, you will help develop the automated scripts and tests to assist with the integration and running of the simulator. As a member of the team, you will also responsible for conducting manual integration and regression testing on the Worldview Legion spacecraft simulator. In addition to the Legion simulator, our team provides support to the other legacy spacecraft simulators available. You will work as part of a larger team that includes spacecraft engineers, ground system engineers, software engineers and system engineers.

What you'll do day-to-day (with your colleagues):

Support testing and automation of tests for the Worldview Legion spacecraft simulator
  • Conduct manual testing on the simulator
  • Develop/refine scripts to automate the integration between the Legion simulator and the Maxar ground system
  • Develop automated tests to conduct regression and integration testing
  • Provide documentation on automated scripts and tests
  • Assist in testing of spacecraft commissioning command sequences

Assist and participate in launch and mission rehearsals
  • Operate and maintain the simulator during the exercises
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the automated scripts and the simulator

Support other Maxar business segments
  • Provide detailed knowledge of how the spacecraft simulators work
  • Assist in ground software requirement definition, review, and verification

Minimum requirements for this position:
  • Must be a U.S citizen and be willing and able to obtain U.S. Government Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Experience in software development with fluency in Python or MATLAB

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Unix/Linux
  • Experience with REST
  • Experience writing unit, functional, and integration tests
  • Strong and innovative computer language skills
  • Experience in spacecraft operations
  • Detailed oriented and strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

The compensation range for this position is $51,000 to $85,000 annually, dependent on skills and experience.
