Maxar is currently seeking an Operations Engineer to join our Data Services team in Westminster, CO. The ideal candidate for this role is collaborative, inquisitive, adaptive, flexible, service focused, and willing and able to learn quickly. In this role, you will be the first line of operations management within Maxar's Data Services organization. Day to day focus will be on ticket/request management, daily monitoring and alert management, and troubleshooting and fixing any operational issues. This position does have on-call responsibility on a rotational basis. There will also be opportunity to design and fix defect as necessary in our software or processes.Data Services encompasses Database Management, Enterprise Data Backup and Recovery and Elastic Stack log system management. You will work closely with all three teams to handle daily tickets, daily operation system checks and status reporting, help with incident and problem management and work with various team members on a variety of workloads. You will also be expected to work with internal Maxar departments such as IT, problem management, customer service, the data operations center, and software development to handle tickets, operations issue, patching upgrades of systems. Minimum Requirements:- Must be a US Citizen and possess a current/active Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Four years of experience may be substituted for a degree
- Minimum of 2 years of related work experience
- Ability to accommodate a specific assigned shift in a 24x7 organization
- Minimum of 1.5 year of experience with Linux system administration, including experience with all or some of the following technologies: RedHat, LDAP, Puppet, DNS
- Minimum of 1.5 year of experience with Windows System Administration, including experience with all or some of the following technologies: DNS, Active Directory & Server 2008R2 or 2012R2
- Minimum of 1.5 year of experience with VMWare Systems Administration, which may include vCenter, vSphere
- Minimum of 1.5 year of basic understanding of networking, firewalls, routing, segmented networks and remote site connectivity
- Minimum 1.5 year of experience with managing AWS infrastructure
- Experience in some type of application or database development and design.
- Preferred to have knowledge and experience in python, ansible, puppet, or terraform
- Preferred to have knowledge of one database management system administration as in Oracle, SQL Server, or Postgres
- Preferred to have and working experience with Backup and recovery systems as in CommVault, Networker, or NetBackup
