We are hiring immediately for a Manager, Navigation Systems to join the Spacecraft Calibration, Navigation, and Engineering leadership team in Westminster, CO.

The Navigation Systems team is responsible for orbit determination, orbit prediction, orbit maintenance, and collision avoidance operations and associated software development for Maxar's Earth Intelligence spacecraft constellation. The Navigations Systems team also performs orbit design, and mission analysis for Maxar's next generation spacecraft. As Manager, Navigation Systems you are responsible for managing overall operations of the Navigation Systems team, which includes project management, organizational planning, budget management and career development. Your primary focus is enabling the Navigation Systems team to meet operational goals, removing obstacles for the team, and ensuring team members can focus on technical solutions and projects.

What You Will Do:
  • Provide general operations support and leadership for the Navigation Systems team - project management, budget management, organizational planning, and career development
  • In partnership with technical leads, ensure the execution of spacecraft navigation operations, analyses, and system development.
    • Projects to derive and test spacecraft navigation algorithms for improved accuracy, speed, and spacecraft safety.
    • Analyses to quantify operational performance metrics.
    • Execution of predicted orbit maintenance scenarios to maintain constellation orbits and spacecraft safety.
    • Launch and early operations of spacecraft navigation tasks, to bring processes to steady-state automation.
  • Oversee writing of technical documents to capture procedures and results.
  • Communicate spacecraft navigation status and analyses results to operations management.
  • Work closely with other technical leads, managers, and system architects across ground and space systems to successfully execute our mission.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the willingness and ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance
  • 2 years professional experience in a team leadership role
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math, Physics, or related field.
  • 5 years' experience in an aerospace/technical engineering role or organization
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Leadership skills to build consensus, clearly communicate goals, and inspire excellence in team members.
  • Desire to serve in a capacity to mentor team members, contribute to team members' career growth, and build expertise within team.
  • Excellent written & oral communicator
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical groups.
  • Knowledge of orbital mechanics, statistical estimation, and associated spacecraft navigation software development
  • Agile management experience and/or certification
  • Certified Project Management (CPM) or other management certification

The compensation range for this position is $102,000 - $170,000 and based on skills and experience.
