Job ID: 21-11017Title: Sr. Geospatial Data AnalystLocation: Westminster, COType: ContractJob Description:The Senior Geospatial Data Scientist is responsible for writing simple to complex geospatial queries, executing local to global analysis on geographic and tabular features, assist Data Scientists and Developers with the improvement of highly complex tools; and provide support on custom revenue generating projects and products.What you will do day-to-day: Write queries using PostgreSQL and PostGIS using real world data to solve complex geospatial problems Contribute to geospatial models for predictive analytics to enhance and improve mapping products, collection strategies, and commercial implementation of our Legion constellation Write ETLs using scripting languages: Python, C#, and other ancillary languages with associated libraries Work with large spatial data sources for queries and analysis Learn and leverage industry knowledge and analytical expertise to provide insights to improve and enhance current global content strategy Utilize creativity and problem-solving skills to solution clients most pressing issues with an analytical lens, while meeting client needs and communicating your work to executive audiences. Creating maps for use in publications, presentations, meetings, and for general information for management decision support Implement cutting-edge geospatial methods and algorithms into reproducible workflows for data analysis and visualization Expand the companys geospatial capabilities with new open-source algorithms, methods, techniques, tools, etc. Be a technical resource and provide guidance to members of the science and business teams on geospatial best practices, tools, and methods. Develop automated reports to aid internal customers and Project Managers with reporting requirements for projects within Foundations Product Mapping. Support Intermediate and Senior level data scientists and developers in tool development and analysis Communicate with multidisciplinary teams and articulate technical concepts and ideas effectively Assist with machine learning implementation in AWS Cloud using lambdas and services When necessary, assists in miscellaneous tasks to support various functional groups within Product MappingMinimum Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen Requires 5-7 years of demonstrated experience with database languages, geospatial programming, and modeling Bachelors degree in related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience. Desired degrees include Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, GeoSciences, Remote Sensing, Photogrammetry or a related field Team player with a can-do attitude and solution oriented Able to solve problems in a team and independently Detail-oriented and a strong work ethic Excellent organizational ability Excellent written and verbal communication skills required Be a self-starter and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment Must be able to quickly move between shifting priorities due to business and/or customer requests. Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience. Desired degrees include Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, GeoSciences, Remote Sensing, Photogrammetry or a related field Experience using PostgreSQL databases Familiarity with QGIS, FME, pgAdmin, DBEAVER Knowledge and experience in the following languages: Python (arcpy), C#, HTML, CSS, Javascript, SQL Familiarity with GitHub Knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise 10.5 or higher; including ArcPro, ArcServer, and Portal Understanding or exposure to AWS Cloud Services: EC2, S3, RDS, ELB, and Lambdas Understanding of commercial imagery and production workflows Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Supply and Demand modelingIf interested, please reach out!
