This team brings creative engineering solutions to operations problems and focuses on optimizing existing systems and reducing work through automation.Responsibilities- Engage in the whole lifecycle of services-from inception and design, through deployment, operations, and refinement
- Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health
- Scale systems sustainably, and evolve services by identifying changes that improve reliability, cost, and performance
- Develop resilient operational services that provide key functionality for operations
- Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
- Participate in the Agile software development process
- Provide timely support to our 24x7 operations teams including on-call support
- Natural curiosity and ability to continually learn about our evolving complex ground system
- Must be U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance
- Experience with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Development experience in one or more of the following languages: C, C, Java, Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby
- Experience supporting software running in a Linux OS
- Internship experience or 1+ years' experience in DevOps or Software Development or similar field
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree
- Type script familiarity or experience
- Active Secret or Top Secret clearance desirable
- Ability to troubleshoot operational issues across multiple complex systems and propose and implement new solutions
- Understand the fundamentals of CI/CD, container infrastructure life-cycle, software source control (git/github)
- Understanding of software design, development and troubleshooting
- AWS Associate or Professional Certification highly desired
- Experience with log aggregation tools like Elastic Stack
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Understanding of Service Oriented and Microservice Architectures
