Your Focus: The Maxar Space Software/DCA Agile Release Train is focused on driving excellence within Maxar Space in delivery of all spacecraft, ground, and simulator software for Maxar Space programs, including the spacecraft dynamics simulation, modeling, and control code. We serve mission critical needs to enable industry leading timeliness and quality for a global customer base. Our scrum teams are newly formed in our Agile rollout, and the first Large Solution Layer team is forming in our Scaled Agile Transformation. What you'll do day-to-day (with your team members):
  • Create, prioritize and own the program backlog for the Maxar Space Software/DCA Agile Release Train to consist of PI Objectives, capabilities and research work.
  • Work with your leadership to develop a six-quarter roadmap, and accompanying workforce plan that delivers value to a varied stakeholder group
  • Manage and develop the talent of a team of Product Owners
  • Focus teams on delivering to identified objectives at the train and enterprise level
  • Coach team members and peers on the Scaled Agile Framework and make adjustments to the model to benefit from lessons learned.
  • Develop workflows and methods to manage and report the various elements of program information in the ART.
  • Extensive research and discussion is done with customers, business owners, product owners, and system architects to create the features and Epics.
  • Partner with the RTE to provide value by determining "what gets built" as defined in the Program Backlog.
  • Support the ART in delivering value through the Program Backlog
  • Have a clear definition of the customer and collaborate with a range of individuals and groups to understand the solution context, develop the Program vision, roadmap and feature requirement.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, computer science, systems engineering or a related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Requires at least 5 years of experience in iterative development methodology such as Agile, Scrum, XP, Lean or similar
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies in a management or product role
  • Recent experience with Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprise
  • Experienced Product Owner or Product Manager working with team or program backlogs

These skills would be amazing:

  • Prior development experience
  • Prior aerospace experience
  • Scaled Agile experience in a mixed hardware/software environment
  • Prior management experience leading teams of 10 or more
  • Experience leading distributed teams
  • Knowledge and experience of design thinking and systems engineering principles, especially MBSE.
  • SAFe Agilist, SPC, CSPO, or similar certification

The compensation range for this position is $123,000 to $205,000 annually, dependent upon skills/expereince. This position is also eligible for a bonus plan.
