Maxar is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Mosaic Advanced Image Processing team in Westminster, CO. You will be an important contributor to a team works collaboratively to solve complex photogrammetry and workflow problems and ensures our AWS services run optimally for the needs of our Mosaic customers. If you enjoy solving complicated problems working with massive data sets, this is an excellent opportunity for you to explore. We are a team of skilled full-stack engineers from diverse backgrounds. This software engineer role will be responsible for contributing to the designing, developing, testing and deploying functional capabilities of the Maxar Mosaic products. This is an opportunity to work in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) organization while also having ample interaction with our R&D teams. Maxar has been recognized as one of the leading Agile organizations both in Colorado and nationwide. We have a dynamic roadmap to leverage the benefits of cloud technologies to build on our industry leading Mosaic capabilities. We are a major consumer of Amazon Cloud Services and we plan to take advantage of the ever-expanding AWS capabilities. What you will do with your teammates
  • Design, develop and enhance applications/services to exceed our customer expectations. This includes extensive test automation to ensure stability and evolving to high reliability through CI/CD practices.
  • Foster and support the on-going growth and practices of agile cloud development within the organization.
  • Provide Tier-3 level support of the software you and your team own.
  • Own multiple applications and services that make up part of our Mosaics domain.

Minimum Requirements for this Position
  • Must be a US citizen and be willing and able to obtain a Secret or higher security clearance
  • BS in a technical discipline (Computer Science preferred) or 4 additional years of work experience
  • 8+ years of experience programming in Java or Python
  • Experience with
    • JSON/REST
    • Service Oriented Architectures
    • Spatial databases
    • Javascript/React experience
  • 1+ years of building and supporting solutions in AWS
  • Exposure to GIS and/or digital signal processing

These skills would be amazing
  • Agile software development lifecycle experience
  • Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to stay organized while balancing multiple priorities
  • AWS Associate or Pro Certification
  • A math, physics, or GIS focused minor or major
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross team collaboration
  • SAFe Agilest 4 Certification
  • Experience within the Aerospace Industry
  • Experience building monitoring and alerting in a serverless architecture

The compensation range for this position is $108,000 - $180,000 USD annually, dependent on skills and experience.
