Maxar is seeking to hire an experienced Sr. Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Tactical Ground Programs team in Westminster, CO. We are seeking a cross-functional team member who can interact with systems and software engineers, configuration management specialists, and system security specialists. This technical team combines systems engineering, software engineering, and satellite downlink expertise to develop and deploy satellite imagery to remote GEOINT processing and exploitation ground systems. This role will involve designing and building new capabilities in addition to providing support, troubleshooting and enhancements for our deployed, integrated hardware and software systems. In this role, you will work in an Agile Scrum environment working across functional teams.

What will you be doing?
  • Effectively lead and work in a fast-paced development environment as part of an Agile Scrum team.
  • Create, integrate, test, orchestrate, and deploy microservice Kubernetes clusters to standalone environments
  • Integration of software services to support satellite image processing ground systems.
  • Utilize multiple scripting languages to automate integration, end-to-end testing, and deployment.
  • Improve operational excellence by aligning future architecture design and capabilities with current operations by focusing on requirements-driven design.
  • Leverage various languages including Java, C, and Python.
  • Work with RESTful services in a containerized and/or virtualized environment.
  • Interface with PostGres and Oracle DBs.
  • Responsible for software product design, development and validation, workflows, execution, analysis, and associated documentation.
  • Periodically participate in local, on-site installation of the ground system.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to more junior developers on the team.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be U.S. citizen and be willing and able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline. 6 years of additional experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • 8+ years of development experience.
  • Must have experience in both manual and automated software testing.
  • Must have knowledge of Java, and Python languages and familiarity with RESTful services, message queues and relational databases.
  • Must be comfortable designing, developing, integrating, testing, and deploying software in Docker and Kubernetes environments.
  • Must be comfortable working with Linux operating systems.
  • Must be familiar with configuration management tools like GIT, Stash, etc.
  • Ability to support occasional international or domestic travel.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret clearance, TS/SCI highly desirable.
  • Experience operating as a part of a System Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) group.
  • Extensive experience in container-based software environments (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira issue tracking software.
  • Experience with Iron Bank Docker Containers and DoD Information Assurance, RMF Framework.
  • Agile development and/or SCRUM experience.
  • A drive for gaining new knowledge. Position will require an employee to learn and be knowledge on several different systems and tools.
  • Passion for working in a collaborative design environment with a focus on quality and reliability.
  • Experience working with Geographical Information Systems data.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to work in a collaborative team environment.

The compensation range for this position is $108,000 .00 - $180,000.00 USD annually, dependent on skills and experience.
