Blue Lake Ranch serves a beautiful Southwest Breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30 am in the summer. The buffet consist of cereals, granola, nuts and dried fruits, yogurt, fresh berries, citrus platter, meat and cheese platter, assortment of breads, pastries, juices, coffee, tea and eggs (scrambled, hard boiled, etc) a cooked meat and a special entrée each day. The cook creates the entrée. The cook has an assistant to help with set up, prep and clean up.

The job requires lots of guest interaction, as the breakfast is served in the beautiful kitchen.

We are looking for someone that is a team player, likes people, is organized and can multi task, pays attention to detail and makes the food look as good as it tastes. Typical summer hours are 6:30 am until 11:30 am. Other responsibilities we'd like to have our cook take over food ordering for the week, incorporating our local fresh fruits and vegetables, supervise the breakfast assistant, plan menus for breakfast each week, plan menus for special events lunches and or dinners at the Ranch a few times each month. The cook would also make picnic lunches (sandwiches) and wine and cheese platters for guests.

This is not a line cook position, it is much less frantic and with appropriate planning is easy and beautiful.

This job is seasonal at present, but could be expanded for the right person into the off season.October to May perhaps working as an innkeeper/cook and helping with events.

Housing may be an option as well.
