Facility/Banquet Coordinator for Event Center near Durango, CO
Our seasonal Event Center is open from April 1 until October 31 and we host events, mostly weddings. We are seeking someone who truly enjoys working with people, works well under pressure; always smiling and happy, can multitask and delegate, can lift up to 40 pounds, and loves hosting a party!
Our events are almost always on the weekends and the coordinator will be at the Event Center around 10 hours per event. The coordinator is responsible for meeting with the renters a week or two before the event and doing a detailed event plan/timeline to guide the set up on the day of the event. On the day of the event, the facility coordinator will set up our equipment (tables, chairs, linens, glassware, silverware, china) as directed by the plan, and direct the renter's vendors (caterers, florists, cake people, DJ's) to their locations, etc.
The Coordinator makes sure the facilities and grounds are safe and secure, the restrooms are clean and stocked, that the event is proceeding as planned. At the end of the evening, the coordinator assists the renter with getting all of their items removed from the event center from food to decorations.
You will also work with the Event Center Day of Event Coordinator and REC Manager. If a family has hired this additional Day of Event services you will coordinate setup, decorations, etc, and will work as a team to fulfill the additional responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will be available every Friday, Saturday and some Sundays, and can also work additional hours for timeline meetings. Hours will range from 10 to 30 hours per week. Additional hours are a possibility if you would like to work at the Bed and Breakfast that is one mile from the Event Center.
