We have a 19th c brick house that was painted with latex once or twice, many years ago. The project is to strip the paint, and prepare for a mason to tuck point.
The product that will be used is from PROSOCO, called heavy duty paint stripper. The methods are described by PROSOCO. Please look it up and the instructions up on their website. I am familiar with the product and the methods. There are no environmental hazards. The product is based on caustic soda, so protection is needed for worker and for window openings and the bits of conduit on the outside of the building. Following the directions will achieve the intended result. Anything else will not.
The products needed are present at the house and the work can start immediately.
The entire area to be stripped should be about a seven day project for a two man crew. A third helper might be used as well.
