For 20 Years, Fire Smart LLC has provided wildfire mitigation services to private property owners in and around Durango. We are looking for a qualified sawyer to join our mitigation crew.
Required:
-A Solid Work Ethic. Please understand that the work we do is critical to the safety of people and their homes.
-Great physical ability and endurance. This work can be very strenuous and it can be a grind.
-Safety awareness. This work can be very dynamic, technical and dangerous.
-Ability to work well with a team. We communicate to keep each other safe, and to be efficient and productive.
-Ability to learn. We want you to know as many aspects of the work as soon as safely possible. This means that you will need to be able to learn new skills.
Considered:
-Experience in tree work or wildfire mitigation.
-Experience in wildfire suppression.
-Chainsaw experience and or certifications.
-Experience in trail work and/or outdoor labor.
-Mitigation Specialist and/or Home ignition Zone certification.
This is a seasonal position that begins in late March/early April and ends in November depending on Weather. Our crew works 5 days a week and usually gets 32-40 hours a week. Full time applicants are preferred but part time applicants are welcome.
Compensation starts at $19/hour + a $3/hour end of season bonus for quality work.
