Unix, Linux or AIX Admin with Cloudera / Confluent 1+ year contract RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitoring, optimizing and administering of Cloudera and Confluent Kafka on Linux/AIX OS, system hardware and application performance. Administering on-premise Kafka platform and Kafka on cloud (AWS) Provide production support for the Cloudera and Confluent Kafka infrastructure. Provide Oncall support based on rotation. Provide support for the kafka infrastructure running on AWS. Perform application upgrades, patches, able to identify and troubleshoot issues/bugs. Work closely with Level 3 and applcations team for project planning/upgrades. Attend project meeting and provide input to project planning. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE 1. 2+ years of experience in Cloudera Kafka administration. OR 2+ years of experience as a Confluent Kafka Administrator, with working experience using Confluent Kafka Connect (JMS, JDBC), Confluent Control Center, Confluent Replicator or MirrorMaker, Confluent Kafka security (Kerberos, ACL, SSL, SASL). Confluent KSQL and schema registry. Experience in Confluent Kakfa components (Connect, Schema, Registry, KSQL, ControlCenter). 2. Should have experience in creating topics/updating ACL's. Knowledge of Kafka brokers, zookeepers, Kafka connect, schema registry, KSQL, Rest proxy and Kafka Control center. 3. Provide administration and operations of the Kafka platform like provisioning, access lists Kerberos and SSL configurations. 4. Administrating Kafka components using cloudera manager portal or Confluent control center. 5. Excellent knowledge of UNIX/LINUX OS administration. 6. Strong communication skills. 7. Ability to work in a team environment, as well as individually with minimal supervision. 8. Good interpersonal skills. 9. Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously. 10. Works well under pressure, in a very fast paced working environment. 11. Manage time effectively and accordingly based on priorities. Knowledge of AWS or Azure is a plus
