Our products efficiency and accuracy are critical to the support of many commercial and military applications. We have an opportunity for an experienced Process Engineer at our Cheshire, CT facility. This position will be responsible for the engineering support of electromechanical inertial products. The position includes monitoring and maintaining production yields by troubleshooting, evaluating, and resolving technical complex issues affecting process, tooling, materials, and equipment. It may also require assisting the design and development of manufacturing processes for establish production areas or transition of new products involving design state to full production development.Primary Responsibilities:Support and optimize manufacturing processes in production areasTroubleshoot and solve production process problems with processes or equipment already in operationMake recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materialsDevelop and support tooling for existing and new productsMRB management and reportingSAP Work Order, Routing, and BOM managementDevelop RCCA and failure analysis reports to senior engineering to supports business health metricsElectro-Mechanical Failure analysis and troubleshooting experienceSupport Total Preventative Maintenance processes with industry standard and special process equipment such as Laser Weld, Vacuum Furnace, Digital Xray, etcContinuously drive improvement in areas of yield, quality cost, schedule, and productivity applying quality tools such as Six Sigma, ACE, etcConduct process measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over applicable variables, such as SPC, Gage R&R, etcEnsure EH&S complianceSupport Engineering Changes as requiredAssist with Capital Expenditure research and justificationParticipate in the design and layout of machines within plant facilities to ensure more efficient and productive layoutMay propose the sequence of operations and installations and supports in specifying procedures for fabrication of tools and equipment and other processes which may include disassembly/assembly and repairs, to ensure efficiency and optimize performanceHands-on work driven mindset and willingness to multitaskAbility to work with cross model multiple designs, performance, and specificationBasic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations ORAdvanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience ORIn absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is requiredMust be a US CitizenPreferred Qualifications:Mechanical Engineering bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience working within small electromechanical assembly products.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Software such as MS Word, MS Excel/Macro, MS PPT, etc. ERP experience such as SAP, Oracle, etc.Related Mechanical/Electrical Process Engineering experienceRCCA tool practice such as Six Sigma and ACE.Collins Aerospace, a Raytheon Technologies company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry.
