The Engine Design and System Integration (EDSI) Commercial Engines organization is focused on delivering systems solutions to meet customer requirements, driving engineering quality and productivity, while developing the next generation of systems engineers.​​The Mature Commercial Engines EDSI team is frontline keeping the legacy commercial and military transport / tanker fleets flying safely. EDSI OCE system engineer prime mission is to ensure fleet wide safety, reliability, maintainability while driving a profitable business result.EDSI is seeking a highly motivated, team oriented, and results driven systems engineer with experience in one or more of the following functions: Engine performance, operability and control functionality.

System level project engineering.

System safety management.

Rotor dynamics – vibration.

Structural analysis, rotating hardware.

Air Systems Design & Integration.

System Design, PD/DMU, Airframe Integration.

This position is highly inter-disciplinary and team-oriented requiring excellent communication skills. Travel opportunities may arise depending on project assignments and requirements. Candidates with more extensive team leadership experience will be considered for expanded roles in EDSI; those with experience in a portion of the above responsibilities will be evaluated for development and growth opportunities while fulfilling a technical leadership role with support.Responsibilities: Perform system-level performance and operability analysis utilizing engine, aircraft data and Responsibilities engine simulation.

Provide propulsion system issue resolution support to the airline customers through PW representatives / fleet chief / customer technical service.

Represent engine design and system integration discipline on various cross-functional teams interfacing with component groups as well as airframe customers.

Support and facilitate program EDSIT workflow process.

Executes the risk management process and supports Safety Board.

Form/join/lead cross functional teams for detailed analysis/problem resolution.

Assess system level impacts for CCB.

Recommend integrated solutions for technical issues.

Develop system level information to drive decision making across the program.

Coordinate technical resolution of system level issues with airframers.

Complete/compile system level design review material.

Oversees EVMS execution including plans, schedules and budgets.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 8+ years’ of experience in a technical environment.

US Person required due to ITC constraints.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the aerospace industry.

Competent in one or more of the following engineering disciplines: thermodynamics and engine performance, gas dynamics, aircraft performance, systems design, statistics, functional integration, aerospace systems testing, and software design.

Practical experience-understanding with systems level analysis tools and methods and how integrated to other system design objectives (e.g. structural rotating part lifing, turbine durability, general structural integrity, clearance and gapping assessments).

Strong communication, analytical, teaming skills, and the ability to work in a highly collaborative environment is required.
