Department Overview The Core Structures team is looking for an experienced structures engineer to lead and execute technical tasks centered around low cycle fatigue, burst & overspeed and crack growth. The ability to derive creative solutions to challenging problems while remaining conservative is crucial. The role provides unique opportunity to interact with Aftermarket, MRO, Module Centers and engine program leadership in all phases of development. Core Structures is responsible with developing and maintaining World Class lifting tools allowing module centers to design and analyze some of the most sophisticated gas turbine engine components for today’s advanced commercial and military aircraft. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform structural analysis in support of all phases of life model development including specimen data regression, failure analysis, component validation and authority certification in areas of:

Low Cycle Fatigue

High Cycle Fatigue

Thermal Mechanical Fatigue

Aqueous and Hot Corrosion Fatigue

Burst & Overspeed

Surface Damage Tolerance

Crack Growth

Probabilistics

Support field investigations.

Use finite element analysis and classical methods to evaluate component and specimen capabilities.

Coordinate with others to advance technology and improve engineering standard work processes/methods.

Document analysis results and present conclusions to PW management and internal customers.

Basic QualificationsMinimum GPA of 3.0

Fluent in English (verbal/written)

This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
