This is a technical supervisor position where you will oversee the design team’s support of production operations within the Mechanical Systems, Externals and Nacelles (MSEN) - Engineering Support To Operations organization (ESTO). In this role you will lead a team of design engineers to ensure Electronic Quality Notification (eQN's) are dispositioned on time, producibility issues are resolved, Class 2 EC's are processed and delivery risks are understood and mitigated. You will develop your team and ensure budgets are met while accomplishing Component integrated product team (CIPT) and program milestones for quality and producibility metrics. You will be responsible for integration with CIPT’s, partners, mating modules and operation focals from quality and business units. The manager in this position will have exceptional people and problem-solving skills and be able to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization. The selected candidate will supervise approximately 6-10 design engineers and will work very closely with design, project, and structures manager counterparts.This is an open position for the Mechanical Systems group.20% travel is anticipated.Responsibilities Include:Self-directed with strong leadership skills to influence across the design discipline.

Ensuring design engineers are fully engaged in supporting the CIPT and Operations metrics to ensure part, module and engine delivery issues are resolved, and eSRI's are answered in a timely manner.

Leading a technical team of value stream experts across the part families.

Work cohesively with counterparts in WPB Florida and North Berwick Maine to ensure alignment across the design discipline.

Driving improvements in quality and delivery performance in support of CIPT objectives.

Engaging with internal and external suppliers to investigate quality or delivery issues, and develop robust improvement plans.

Prioritizing work to ensure critical needs are addressed.

Managing schedule and budget requirements while ensuring adherence to P&W’s quality and engineering standard work processes.

Leading and supporting overall organizational objectives identified in Policy Deployment.

Assist in the hiring and developing employees within the design discipline.

Providing support for the CIPT teams, Operations personnel, Industrial teams, and suppliers that produce parts, modules and engines for Mechanical Systems, Externals and Nacelle’s hardware.

Organizing and leading task assignments, including task planning, manpower requirements and coordinating in-house and outsource resources.

Performance feedback and results for the group. Coach, train and develop engineers. Develop and approve proficiency advancement of personnel.

Provide leadership for design engineers in support of Pratt & Whitney’s delivery goals.

Ensure Outsourcing work is completed, reviewed and approved by the appropriate technical focals.

Coordinate with other groups to provide feedback on lessons learned and improve engineering standard work processes/methods.

Documentation and communication of results to management.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering, or other related Engineering field

10+ years of Jet Engine Engineering experience; or a minimum of 7+ years with an advanced degree

US Citizenship due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

M.S. degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or other related Engineering program, or MBA

Demonstrated skill in leading and managing a technical team

Previous supervisory experience a plus

Proven demonstration of risk-based decision-making, analytical skills, business discernment and professional maturity

TRAVEL: 20% travel is anticipated
