Position Summary

The Program Manager (PM) works with cross-functional teams to lead the planning and execution of new product development (NPD) projects through the entire development cycle, from conception through design, development, verification, and launch.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage new product development projects which may include both software and hardware products.
  • Follow the stage gate (milestone) process in project management, leading the project teams to achieve the goals defined by each stage gate.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, set milestones, and identify critical path items. Manage team and communicate timing priorities of critical path items.
  • Organize project teams for approved New Product Development projects and manage project resource requirements through product release. Identify gaps in resource capability and skills that may impact the successful execution of the project.
  • Set expectations for team interaction and responsibilities and holds team members accountable for the achievement of their commitments within the established timelines.
  • Identify project risks through the lifecycle of the project and manage, prepare end execute on associated mitigation plans.
  • Track project KPIs such as: product cost, resources, schedule, expenses, etc.
  • Work closely with Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Sales, Marketing, Finance and Field Operations to understand business and customer needs and ensure achievement of expected outcomes.
  • Plan and run project team meetings.
  • Provide project updates and status on weekly basis and communicate to the project team and upper management. Provide concise data and insights to inform executive decisions as necessary.
  • Communicate sourcing needs to Procurement or directly with Suppliers as needed.
  • Prepare product reviews and demonstrations in collaboration with Product Management.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in leadingtechnical projects or new product development with demonstrated success leading complex projects to completion.
  • 2+ years' experience developing and implementing project timelines/schedules.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong technical experience with mechanical engineering
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Fluency in MS Project, SmartSheets (or other scheduling applications), and the MS Office Suite.
  • Candidate should possess excellent communication (oral and written) skills and is able to provide executive-level updates and presentations.
  • Individual should be a proactive problem solver who is able to make decisions while knowing when to elevate issues for further assistance
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently and as a team member, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Candidate should have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to coordinate and run cross-functional meetings effectively.
  • PMP certification preferred
