Job Description Summary The DevSecOps Foundations Services team is seeking an Engineer with an everything-as-code mindset that is passionate about CI/CD and automation. Working across Line of Business teams supporting the Enterprise DevSecOps Foundation Services Pipeline Platform, this Engineer will help enable Travelers App Modernization and Cloud Enablement strategies, including the evolution of a GitOps pattern for Cloud. This means that while supporting key services, you'll also get to build stuff that matters to help developers get on the fastest path when building their applications while also designing and enabling solutions that extend self-service capabilities and enable greater consistency. With an emphasis on the "Sec" in DevSecOps, you'll also work on solutions that help developers write secure and compliant code without requiring them to become security and legal experts. In doing so, you'll get to further automate greater protection of the environment while balancing security and legal requirements with app team needs. To accomplish this, you'll get to work with tools like GitHub, Black Duck, CloudBees CI (Jenkins), Prisma Cloud Compute, Nexus, UCD, and Argo CD, and Cloud platforms like EKS.

  • Evaluates systems specifications regarding customer requirements, transforming specifications into cost-effective, technically correct solutions.
  • Prioritizes work and manages projects within established budget objectives and customer priorities.
  • Responsible for establishing and managing to established quality control and security protocols.
  • Provides the division, department and business area management with timely and accurate information regarding the status and performance of the assigned project(s).
  • Leverages technology to develop, redesign and/or implement optimal technology solutions.
  • Builds, leverages, and maintains effective alliances across technical and business community.
  • Interacts with customers to achieve efficient, effective results.
  • Multi-tasks, prioritizes according to business priorities and production availability requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or its equivalent in work experience, required.
  • Three years of experience in Technology required.

Education, Work Experience, & Knowledge
  • Five years of experience in Technology preferred.
  • Experience providing technical direction to project teams preferred.
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as Network, Database, Server, Storage etc. preferred.

Job Specific Technical Skills & Competencies

Travelers is looking for an Engineer with Docker/Kubernetes experience and an everything-as-code mindset.
  • Proficiency using CI/CD tools is required.
  • Experience with GitHub and Jenkins or similar tools is required.
  • Experience creating scalable custom solutions to improve speed and visibility and to enable greater consistency is required.
  • Ability to identify trade-offs to various solution implementation paths and articulate those trade-offs is a must.
  • CI/CD service administration experience is a plus.
  • Scripting experience is required as you'll get to exercise your development background by evolving existing solutions and creating your own solutions to enhance the overall service. Python scripting is a plus.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL is a plus.
  • Experience with IDEs (ex. Eclipse, Visual Studio, VS Code) is a plus.
  • Experience with open source library, image, and/or container governance or dependency management solutions is a plus.
  • Experience with EKS is a plus.
  • Experience with Helm is a plus.
  • Jenkins plugin development using Java is a plus.
  • Linux and Window server administration is a plus.
