Work by the beach this summer on beautiful Block Island!

W Food Group, operating as two restaurants Finn's and Dead Eye Dick's, seeks team members for the upcoming season on Block Island. Both restaurants are independently owned: Finn's is a casual seafood restaurant and fish market with a modern clam shack vibe; Dead Eye Dick's is an upscale coastal dining venue. Both are focused on creative takes on classic New England dishes. Currently looking for enthusiastic candidates willing to relocate to Block Island for the busy season.

All positions offer rental housing available within walking/biking distance to job sites. Overtime available. Ideal availability May 15 - Sept 30. See open position descriptions below.

Jobs Available:

Cook

- must have experience in the restaurant industry with desire to work in high-volume seasonal restaurant

- prepare food to specifications of head chef.

- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies and restock as necessary.

- capable of working with a team and communicate with co-workers effectively and coherently.

- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff

- Clean up station and work using sanitary methods.

- Ability to work efficiently and maintain composure under pressure

- Willingness to rotate through stations: Fry, Saute, Grill, Garde Manger, Raw Bar

Dishwasher

- maintain cleanliness in kitchen

- operate commercial dishwasher at high volume

- handle end of night cleaning duties

- handle trash disposal and maintenance

Fish Market Counter Help

- setting up and breaking down market each day

- cutting and weighing fish to order

- handling live lobsters

- fileting fresh fish

- handling fish orders as they arrive, properly rotating product

- helping customers

- managing a cash drawer

- using a POS system to enter orders/take payments

- maintaining cleanliness in market

Server - Must have at least 2 years experience in high-volume restaurants, basic wine/beer/cocktail knowledge, good attitude, friendly demeanor, ability to carry trays up stairs.

Service Bartender - good entry level position for those looking to improve their bar skills and knowledge. Job requires making drinks for waitstaff/table service, maintaining and stocking service bar, working in a clean and organized fashion. Basic beer/wine/cocktail knowledge required.
