Earn the Google IT Support Professional Certificate in less than 14 weeks with Merit America. This training program is 100% free for residents of North Central Connecticut who have been negatively impacted by COVID-19. Eligible participants will receive a weekly stipend, and can also receive a laptop if needed to complete the training.

Merit America is a nonprofit that combines the best of online courses with 1:1 coaching and career services. You’ll spend 14 weeks learning in-demand IT Support skills, and then work with a dedicated placement team to land a job. The next cohort begins in October 8th, 2021.What are the applicant requirements to be accepted for this training?

- You're a resident of the North Central Connecticut region

- You have been negatively impacted by COVID-19

- Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, but no Bachelor’s degree. While those with Associate’s degrees are welcome to apply, those with a Bachelor’s degree or who are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program are not eligible unless your graduation date was over 5 years ago and you're currently unemployed or underemployed.

- You are a fluent English speaker, reader, and writer.

- You are authorized to work in the U.S. and able to pass a background and reference check.

- You are savvy using modern technology with consistent internet access through your personal devices or nearby public spaces (e.g., libraries, coffee shops).Is there an age limit?

We do not have an age limit and welcome all people with a GED or High School diploma to apply.Am I guaranteed a job?

Merit America cannot guarantee employment. Graduates who are not offered a position will receive support from Merit America to identify other career opportunities leveraging their new skills.
