This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.Pratt & Whitney is seeking a 3rd Shift Cell Leader to work onsite at our Middletown, CT campus. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Basic Qualifications:Typically requires, A University Degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and 5+ years’ experience in Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 8+ years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.”

2+ years of supervisory experience.

US Citizenship required due to government contracts.

Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated leadership attributes and ability to influence business objectives.

Strong analytical skills.

Clear, concise communicator.

Experience with Continuous Improvement principles (CORE, QCPC, etc.).

Experience with EH&S principles.

Strong command of MS Office applications, specifically MS PowerPoint and Excel

Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling,prioritizing, coaching and process execution.

Typically requires specialized knowledge of technical or operational practices.

Key Responsibilities:Provide leadership and direction with emphasis on team building through employee meetings, effective communications, and in developing an efficient team that is responsible for engine test, pack, and shipment.

Establish standards and expectation for work effort and performance for subordinates. Give constant feedback on performance to those standards.

Allocate and assign resources.

Coach employees to improve performance when needed.

Communicate with other department personnel and customers to ensure customer satisfaction.

Actively to address issues and engage the workforce in achieving production test goals.

Perform administrative functions as related to bargaining unit employees including maintaining training, quality, and attendance records.

Manage cell overtime and equitably distribute among employees.

EH&S/Quality/CORE:Ensure department equipment is clean, properly maintained, records and labels properly affixed, and uptime optimized while meeting all safety requirements.

Ensure that all employees are fully trained in required aspects of Environmental Health & Safety.

Ensure World Class safety culture is maintained and respond to all EH&S requirements promptly.

Ensure full involvement in CORE continuous improvement initiatives is consistently upheld.

Utilize CORE tools to improve production, performance, and reduce scrap, rework, and repair. Achieve CORE levels as planned.

Demonstrate a 100% commitment to quality in actions, decisions, and communications. Ensure compliance to all Quality policies and procedures.

Control quality, productivity, and process flow to meet customer MRP requirements while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Ensure compliance to P&W policies and procedures.
