LOCATED IN: Allendale, NJ contract to potential hire REPORTS TO: Associate Manager, Manager, Senior Manager, Director POSITION SUMMARY: The Scientist role supports business needs as outlined by Associate Manager, Manager, Sr. Manager, or Director. She/he develops a research investigation plan and conducts research related to projects and project teams. She/he conducts In-depth analyses and integration of data derived from single or multiple tests to present a comprehensive picture and recommended actions. She/he assists in the development and implementation of new methods to address specific product, process, and consumer issues. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Performs routine/non-routine chemical analyses on both finished formulations and raw materials; analyzes and interprets data and reports results • Validates analytical test methods • Provides technical assistance to other departments • Develops raw material specifications, finished product specifications and SOPs in concert with Product Development and Quality • Recommends laboratory equipment and technologies to perform relevant analyses to meet project needs, 5% • Participate in and/or lead one to two R&D teams/task forces designed to improve R&D systems. • Keep current with analytical technical literature and developments in analytical instrumentation. • Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • B.S degree in chemistry/chemical engineering or related field • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in Analytical and/or QC of consumer products, pharmaceutical, food industries or government agency • Experience in a GxP environment • Good computer skills (MS Office) and experience in operating computerized laboratory instruments such as HPLC, GC and FT-IR • Working knowledge of Chromatographic Data Systems (i.e., Chromeleon, Empower) • Working knowledge of the principles and applications of spectroscopy, chromatography, wet analytical chemistry and statistics • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize and work well under pressure, with moderate supervision • Good verbal and written communication skills • Able to communicate with all levels of management • Good team/interpersonal skills • Results-oriented and self-motivating. • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. • Ability to display a degree of flexibility and adapt effectively to change.

QUALITY ASSURANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: • Colleagues are responsible for their own quality and that of colleagues within their span of control. • Colleagues are responsible to follow all established Quality procedures and instructions. • Notify supervision for corrective action if and when defects are found and/or parts/processes do not conform to specifications. NOTES Most important skills - HPLC (Liquid Chromatography), GC (Gas Chromatography), GMP or GLP, Assay Validation experience Preferred skills - General analytical knowledge/skills, problem-solving, ability to work independently, understanding of regulations, procedures, test methods, etc. Helpful previous experience - Some background in the pharma industry is typically a plus since they need an understanding of the regulations, also experience in an R&D-related job would be a plus Position will be on-site
