What You'll DoAs the Chief of Staff - Industrial, you'll be part of our Industrial team located in New Britain, CT. We are looking for a high potential, top performer for this new position: requiring a professional demeanor, excellent communication, and organizational skills with the ability to work on a wide range of tasks and strategic initiatives.

The Chief of Staff (COS) is a critically important role, enabling them to work more effectively with internal and external stakeholders. This is a highly strategic and facilitative role that requires a combination of focus and flexibility. As the leadership's 'trusted counsel,' the role requires strong emotional intelligence, self-motivation, and strong analytical and interpersonal skills. In addition, this position will have a strong Customer Orientation- thinks about customer's (both internal and external) priorities, the value we can deliver, and will make trade-offs that ultimately will drive us to become industry leaders.In this position, you will:
  • Provides an ideal platform for executive development with broad perspective and exposure across many dimensions of the executive leadership of a multi-national Industrial Segment
  • Accelerated development as an emerging leader will be accomplished through a combination of hands-on leadership assignments as well as participation and observations during a broad array of events with the President & executive team.
  • As a developmental role, leaders will be assigned in this capacity for 18-24 months in preparation for placement in a key leadership position.
  • The position will enable support to the President and executive team operating as an extension of the CEO with internal and external constituents across various strategic priorities.
  • Serving as a communications conduit within the executive team is a critical responsibility by effectively and thoughtfully identifying priorities, opportunities, ideas.
  • Working with the VP HR, this position may support select internal and external communications activities for the Company as assigned. The role may also represent the office of the President across a variety of internal and external engagements.
  • Leads strategic projects as defined by the President to accelerate the alignment, engagement, and deployment as assigned.
  • Working collaboratively with the executive team synthesizes input from key stakeholders to develop agendas for executive and extended executive staff sessions

  • 6+ years' work experience in either Operations, Strategy, Commercial or Project Management
  • Superior organizational skills and project/time management abilities, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to inspire others to achieve a common objective and drive cross-functional teams
  • Strong Analytical skills and ability to synthesize large amounts of information from multiple sources to draw conclusions
  • Excellent PowerPoint, Excel skills apart from overall knowledge of financial/operational systems in SBD.
  • Flexible work style and hands-on with an attitude to dive into problem-solving
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to simplify and explain complex problems to stakeholders of all levels across multiple functions, with a willingness to challenge when necessary
  • Requires the agility and range to lead from behind, influencing outcomes and agendas on behalf of the CEO
  • Understands, prioritizes, and recommends sequencing of activities to optimize the effectiveness of rhythms, strategic updates. Etc.
