What You'll DoAs a Scrum Master you'll be part of our corporate team located in New Britain. You'll get to: Duties
  • Facilitate daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo, and retrospective meeting.
  • Resolve conflicts by focusing on scrum values of openness, honesty, and respect.
  • Forecast the number of deliverables possible in an iteration based on evidence.
  • Estimate and plan for development project
  • Coach the team in agile practices; emphasize individuals & interactions over process & tools.
  • Help the team members in clarifying goals and actions to achieve the goals.
  • Shield the team from any distractions and interference.
  • Ensure the correct application of the scrum process.
  • Ensure those goals, scope, and product domain are understood by everyone on the Scrum Team
  • Helping the Scrum Team understand the need for clear and concise Product Backlog items
  • Ensuring the Product Owner knows how to arrange the Product Backlog to maximize value
  • Understanding and practicing agility; and,
  • Facilitating Scrum events as requested or needed.
  • Training people & facilitating workshops in order to gain a better understanding of and get better in applying the Scrum Framework;
  • Resolving impediments when needed and/or teaching the Scrum Team how to resolve impediments themselves;
  • Supporting the Product Owner and Development Team in making sure that the Scrum Artifacts are completely transparent;
  • Coaching the stakeholders (including customers, C-level, senior management and other stakeholders) on agility & understanding of the Scrum Framework, to interact effectively with the Scrum Team;
  • Preparing and hosting the Sprint Retrospective, by gathering data and observations during the Sprint; and,
  • Supporting, training, coaching and facilitating the Product Owner, Development Team and Organization when needed or asked, in order to continuously improve and become more self-organizing;
    • Standups-Facilitate daily standups (or the daily scrum) as needed.
    • Iteration/sprint planning meetings-Protect the team from over-committing and scope creep. Aid in estimation and sub task creation.
    • Sprint reviews- Participate in the meeting and capture feedback.
    • Retrospectives- Note areas for improvement and action items for future sprints.
    • Board administration-Work as the administrator of thescrum board. Ensure that cards are up to date and the scrum tool, Jira softwareis updated.
    • Internal Consulting- Scrum masters should be prepared to consult with team members and internal stakeholders on how best to work with the scrum team.
    • Reporting- Regular analysis ofburndown chartsand other portfolio planning tools to understand what gets built and at what cadence.
    • Blockers- The scrum master aids the team by eliminating external blockers and managing internal roadblocks through process or workflow improvements.
Jira/Atlassian Product ExperienceAt least 3 years of experience working with Atlassian products• Expertise in Jira and Confluence administration, with at least 2 years of experience with Jira administration and/or development• Help guide the configuration and documentation of client JIRA and Confluence instances• Create and manage complex configuration elements including project workflows, screen schemes, permission scheme, and notification schemes• Advise on best practices configuration and recommendations to avoid common pitfalls and challenges• Install and configure 3rd party add-ons for products to provide enhanced capabilities (Portfolio for JIRA, Structure, Tempo, Insight)• Provide training on JIRA and Confluence usage, administration, and operational use and maintenance of the systems• Provide support as required to users to ensure the success of implemented solution• Develop metrics, dashboards, reports and advanced filters to provide end-users and business leadership with meaningful operational/performance metrics and status reports.• Configure, manage, and enhance JIRA and Confluence tools, including native functionality as well as researching, testing, and implementing plugins• Troubleshoot access and/or performance issues• Create and maintain scripts• Interacting with Project Managers, Managers, Developers, Network Engineers and other Administrators
