You'll get to:- Conduct internal tests, lead suppliers to develop new materials, processes, and technologies for our products.
- Teach other material leaders and engineers within the business unit and company to leverage new materials and technologies in the space of plastics and material science.
- Create test procedures, quality plans, and transferrable documents associated with new materials and processes for successful implementation
- Investigate new materials including many forms; bulk plastics, films and coatings, paint, powder coating and their associated processing methods (injection, static, fluid bed).
- Experiment and research new materials and processes on the edge of the materials field (conductive plastics, over-molded circuits).
- Be The Plastics Experts For Our $4B Business Unit!
- MS/ME/PhD Material Science & Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering or similar
- Plastics lab experience
- Advanced material and process knowledge
- Report writing, presentation, and publication of technical literature Quantitative analysis and diagnostic testing with qualitative feedback and guidance
- Electrical & Dielectric Insulation experiences
- Strong understanding of corrosion and experience in corrosion prevention
- Plastics forensics analysis experience a bonus
