Are you a grad student, faculty member, or post-doc starved for in-person discussions of new ideas, paper workshopping, and socializing with likeminded academics and academics in training? We cannot make the kind of progress we want on zoom, alone, without a community of colleagues - this idea is meant to provide people with such a community.
Well, Yale is likely to be closed the fall, maybe even in the spring - but what if we made our own research center?
I am looking for other grad student, faculty members and post-docs, scholarship oriented undergrads and professionals to start a new research center. The primary theme will be Beyond 2020. In the fall, we will host in-person workshops, social events, teas, reading groups, and rent space to provide 24/7 study/library/office facilities to our members. You will be invited to propose reading group series. People in philosophy, political theory, law, sociology, psychology and anthropology would be especially appreciated.

I am also looking for one or more part-time administrator to help things run smoothly, raise funds and manage the space - likely the only paid member of the center.
