The Arc Eastern Connecticut is a non-profit agency which has provided services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities for more than 65 years. We actively champion for full community inclusion and are a licensed and contracted service provider of the Connecticut Department of Development Services. We provide residential, daytime, employment and social supports to people with IDD and their families.
We have several openings at our Lady Slipper Lane residential home.
Location: Norwich, CT

1. Saturday 7a-3p, Wednesday and Thursday 3p-11p, Friday 1p-9p (Part-Time Benefits Eligible)
2. Saturday 3p-11p, Sunday 11a-7p, Monday & Tuesday 3p-11p (Part-Time Benefits Eligible)
3. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday 6a-10a (Part-Time)
4. Sunday 3p-11p, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday 1p-9p (Full-Time Benefits Eligible)
Summary of Responsibilities:
Our Life Skills Instructors are committed to facilitate, model, and build skills that will lead to the optimal independence of our clients.
Provide Assistance With:
-Daily activities such as meal planning and preparation
-Personal care
-Facilitating community involvement by accompanying individuals on outings in the community
-Providing transportation to recreational and community activities
-Supporting therapeutic and behavioral plans
Requirements:
- Prior experience working with people who have developmental and physical disabilities is preferred.
- Excellent client service, must have passion and ability to mentor and assist people in all areas of life skills including recreation, independence, communication and health
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Good basic computer skills
- Valid Drivers license required
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Agency paid training is provided upon hire
