DescriptionThe Sr. Manager-Financial Policies & Procedures will be responsible for the maintenance of all accounting and reporting written documentation and guidance that is issued for a multi-national, multi-currency public company. A principal responsibility will be to engage stakeholders across the company to understand current practices and to stay current in new and proposed regulations as well as best practices to be able to create or update content for documentation. Analyze new accounting technical guidance (SEC and US GAAP) for applicability to filings and assist with recommendations for implementation plans with documented memos Assist in the adoption of new accounting pronouncements, including coordination with external auditors Document positions on critical accounting areas and assumptions applied in accounting memos Assist in providing reporting guidance to leadership in corporate departments and operating units, especially as it relates to complex accounting matters Maintain and update database of written guidance on policy and procedures Stay current on transactional and reporting processes within the company to identify and propose solutions for efficiencies and practicality in applying requirements Identify enhancements to reporting processes to ensure timely and accurate data flows from subsystems and processes Assist with review for approval over processes that require corporate finance approval Review capex items raised to corporate for proper capitalization criteria, including capital versus operating lease distinctions Train company personnel on new policies and procedures being issued, including coordinating with other corporate departments and operating units on compliance initiatives Continually evaluate work to ensure adherence to appropriate business controls to engender proper application of Sarbanes-Oxley procedures Collaborate with internal and external auditors on document requests Direct special projects as requested by management including integration of newly acquired companiesFor immediate consideration please contact Justin Tishman directly: Justin.tishman@roberthalf.com or 203-324-3399 Desk/203-807-6003 CellRequirements Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA strongly preferred A minimum of 10 years accounting experience and familiarity with areas of multi-currency consolidations, financial reporting, SEC reporting, public accounting, public company experience required Strong and extensive knowledge of US GAAP financial accounting standards including FASB, EITF, SEC, and PCAOB pronouncements Prior experience with Hyperion Financial Management, including FDM, Smartview and AdHoc reporting tools, preferred, SAP and Blackline experience strongly preferred; Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel required Strong decision making and problem solving skills with an ability to prioritize Highly motivated, self-starter with a commitment to quality and integrity Strong interpersonal skills with exceptional verbal and written communication skills Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required Ability to evaluate, develop and improve or establish financial policies and procedures Ability to work independently and manage processes and projects across multi-functional groups Maintain organized and detailed files documenting accounting issues, processes, and proceduresFor immediate consideration please contact Justin Tishman directly: Justin.tishman@roberthalf.com or 203-324-3399 Desk/203-807-6003 CellRobert Half Finance & Accounting, the world's leader in specialized financial staffing, provides exciting full-time opportunities in the areas of accounting, bookkeeping, finance, audit, taxation and more.
