Job Description

The Brand Finance Analyst assists in providing financial guidance and business partnership to the Marketing Organization, with a key focus on individual product segments and the total category P&L. Must have the ability to leverage our financial tools to provide information to support decision making.

Main Responsibilities / Tasks

· Assist in evaluating financial risks, recommend solutions and identify opportunities.

· Prepare pro-forma P&Ls based on data derived from collaboration with Marketing team and make recommendations to assist in product and promotion planning.

· Responsible for preparing the forecast category P&L, including sales, costs, and brand support, and related analysis, including price/volume/mix and overall financial commentary.

· Responsible for tracking the status of the Marketing budget, reviewing variances with the various stakeholders, and communicating YTD spend and variances to the Marketing Director and Brand Managers.

· Responsible for ensuring brand support and marketing expenses are properly accrued and recorded at month-end, preparing monthly analysis, including price/volume/mix and overall financial commentary, and preparing monthly P&L review presentation for the Marketing team.

· Analyze product and packaging costs and year over year changes. Communicate discrepancies to appropriate team and provide high-level summary of changes to other finance teams.

· Develop ROI approach for all brand investments to drive efficient spending.

· Support Manager and Marketing team with ad hoc requests (what-if scenarios, financial impact analysis, data retrieves).

· Work and communicate efficiently with other finance team members.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting is required.

· A minimum of 5 years of finance experience in a profit driven organization is required; preferably in Consumer Products.

· Advanced computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

· Experience in COGNOS, JDE, Hyperion Financial Management, TM1, Anaplan, Power BI a plus.

· Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and perform well in a team environment.

· Strong presentation skills with the ability to influence the audience.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a strong knowledge of budgeting and forecasting are essential.

· Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards a plus.
