Job Description

You will lead, develop and guarantee the best possible performance of your team. In addition, you are responsible for the creation and maintenance of the Demand Plan for BIC North America (USA & Canada). The Demand Plan (DP) drives purchasing and is the foundation for reaching sales and inventory targets. The primary KPI is the Demand Plan accuracy in consideration of availability and inventory levels.

In addition, you will build, promote and lead the demand phase of S&OP process to ensure a strong adoption within General Management and its major stakeholders in Sales, Marketing & Finance. Globally you will ensure a cross-functional alignment and consensus sales forecast plan as a key output of S&OP.

Key challenge is to make S&OP a must of NAM management level and to install you and your team in a undisputable leadership position in Demand forecast.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop solid leadership position as owner of Demand Planning for NAM area:
  • Be the single point of contact of NAM General Manager for all Demand Planning related topics
  • Work in close collaboration with business team (Sales, Marketing, Finance) and NAM Supply Planning Manager to reach the regional business objectives (Net Sales, Market Share, IFO) through realistic plans
  • Prepare, Promote and Animate S&OP process review
  • Collaborate with North America Supply Planning Manager and communicate pro-actively any challenges by category and any customer impact.
  • Work in close relationship with Central Supply planning and End-to-end performance teams to continuously align on processes and drive end-to-end initiative to increase Demand performance and reduce inventory coverage
  • Be in full control and understanding of performance results and action plan of the region
  • Collaborate in the leadership charter execution
  • Manage right communication level with USA and Canada Top Management team
  • Facilitate teamwork and collaborative mindset across the different stakeholders
  • Build a strong credibility of Demand Planning team to Top Management

2. Build and grow S&OP process across Commercial, Finance and Supply-Chain stakeholders of NAM:

  • Develop and closely monitor Demand Plan
  • Manage the approval and communication of North America (USA & Canada) Demand plan including risks & opportunities
  • Endorse by Finance and Sales leadership on assumptions and key changes
  • Identify gaps to Finance Rolling Forecast and prepare strong plans to reduce them
  • Anticipate long-term trends and clearly communicate NAM sales forecasts to Supply Planning
  • Generate a continuous improvement mindset through stakeholders of Demand phase of S&OP.

3. Develop your Demand Planner team to ensure high impact and strong performance:

  • Establish a high-performance culture via the communication of clear expectations and targets
  • Develop a proactive communication culture between Demand Team and all other stakeholders
  • Develop strong business acumen to make them key partner of the business
  • Develop the functional and social competencies of all employees
  • Evaluate the performance and competencies of your employees within the given SCORE appraisal framework
  • Manage talent within your team. Develop their competencies to grow within the DP department

4. Act as a key player of Global Supply Chain (GSC) organization:

  • Be proactive to create strong Supply Chain community, collaborate with local Supply and Deliver team, with central functional teams and other Regional Demand Planning teams to share best practices, align processes and ensure proper implementation in your region
  • Be involved, support and manage key projects and initiatives within GSC transformation
  • Enforce Supply Chain perception within the company to attract and retain best talents
  • Lead the development and utilization of tools & systems that support the automation of Demand Planning and S&OP operations

  • Manage a team of 4 Demand Planners for USA and 2 for Canada
  • 2 markets / around 4000 skus / 20 major customers
  • Revenue approx. $980 M/year

Qualifications

  • 5 to 10 years of Supply Chain experience including a successful experience on Demand Planning and S&OP
  • Prior people management experience
  • Advanced APS knowledge (JDA, or similar)
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • MS Office (Access, Power point, Word)
