As part of the

Group Insight & Innovation teams, the

Consumer Insight Senior Manager supports BIC global organization to enrich the consumer knowledge, identify category trends & consumer opportunities and implement appropriate research to guide and validate launch toolkits, portfolio decisions, marketing actions and R&D areas of focus.

This role provides leadership and expertise to help identify consumer knowledge learning gaps and design plans to close gaps. He/she analyzes & shares leverageable insights for business advantage. Depending upon the selected methods, the Consumer Insight Sr. Manager develops or assists in the development of robust research instrument and plans.

This role collaborates closely with Market Experts in the Market & Consumer Insights (M&CI) department to generate Market Insights. It collaborates closely as well with Group Marketing teams and/or R&D teams.

The Market & Consumer Insights team operates as the Centre Of Excellence (COE) on actionable insights in the areas of Market Analysis & Research (business analytics, opportunities), Consumer/Shopper Behavioral Research (trends, needs, motivations, purchase habits) and User/Product Research (user perception & attitudes, product evaluation).

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Contribute to the foundational understanding of consumer dynamics for a given category / scope
  • Implement appropriate consumer research, managing vendors when need be, contribute to transform results into concrete action plans
  • Identify consumer insights & trends and help build structured consumer knowledge base, suggest on learning gaps to fill-in
  • Act as the champion/voice of the consumer, giving inputs to portfolio decisions, roadmap building, toolkits execution, R&D directions, marketing actions and communicate relevant Consumer Insights to stakeholders across brand, design and commercial operations
  • Drives a culture of consumer curiosity, insight generation and analytical thinking
  • Contribute and lead key meetings as CI voice across multiple forums
  • Suggest new potentially interesting methodologies and vendors, recommend robust testing guidelines to support business needs
  • Play a pivotal role in leading a team of talented consumer insights experts/analysts and engage the rest of the M&CI functions, in accordance with the organization’s consumer insights needs and business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s/Advanced degree preferred) in quantitative/research discipline (Consumer Research, Behavioral science, Market Research or Marketing)
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in a Consumer Research company or in a Market Research function - preferably focused on FMCG industry, working on a wide array of research methodologies and with a global / international scope; passion for consumer understanding & trends
  • Strong business orientation; Strong knowledge of marketing principles and concepts, advertising, i.e. a marketer as well as a researcher. Leader as well as team player with ability to build/manage key relationships
  • Exceptional analytical skills and ability to synthesize multiple data points into a simple story, translate consumer data into actionable insights
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with agility & flexibility; exceptional organization skills and a high attention to detail

The ideal candidate will have experience or background in consumer research/market research/business analytics, with significant direct experience in managing brand/market/consumer research (concept, pack, pricing/ marketing mix, U&A, competitive analysis etc), experience in developing and managing a group of consumer insights experts/analysts and cross-collaboration experience working with marketing and multi-disciplinary teams to identify, define and manage data sources, processes to develop insights, guiding and spearheading brand/portfolio strategy and deliver competitive advantage to business.
