Job Description

This role is responsible for managing assigned customer pick-up accounts (Collect), carrier claims, OS&D, freight bill auditing, customer compliance/deductions and order tracking/tracing for internal departments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Managing day to day activities for assigned customer pick-up accounts (freight collect accounts). Developing a relationship with the assigned account(s) that enable a degree of influence regarding the process.
  • Entering and managing carrier claims to completion = payment for lost/damaged freight, return of the freight to BIC or delivery to the customer.
  • Managing the OS&D mailbox when scheduled to do so – returning speedy/accurate instructions to all requests received.
  • Audit/approve freight bills in TMS and enter/approve manual invoices into TAP as required.
  • Research/resolve assigned customer compliance issues/deductions in a timely manner identifying the root cause and develop corrective actions to meet the compliance requirements.
  • Track/trace any shipments for internal departments as needed.
  • Drive for process improvements that net a positive result for the company.
  • Responsible for reviewing customer route guides, as assigned, to reduce potential financial penalties to BIC.Collaborating with internal departments on non-compliant issues to mitigate any financial impact to the company and to improve BIC’s relationship with the customer.
  • Utilize department reports to present pertinent information to the transportation supervisor.
  • Ability to utilize carrier databases to pull shipment tracking information.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer proficiency needed: TMS, AS400 (WM/LogPro/Manhattan Associates), JDE and Microsoft Excel desirable
  • Ability to work as a team both in and outside of the organization
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong ability to prioritize and meet deadlines is required.
  • Ability to multitask important
  • Working knowledge of the transportation industry is key
