Job Description
The Sr. Electronics Design Engineer will work with a team of specialists who will be responsible for developing, testing, and supporting electronics boards or sub-systems. The engineer will define electrical and test requirements, design circuits and test equipment.Specify & design all aspects of electronic development:Analog, Digital and Programmable Logic Circuit DesignSchematic CaptureAC and DC Power Distribution SystemsInterconnect Cables and HarnessingElectronic Racks, Cabinets, Boxes and Control ConsolesPrinted Circuit Boards – PCB Signal and Power IntegrityTest & Troubleshoot Electronic Systems to Component LevelTesting Validation and Verification (V&V) of RequirementsWrite Technical Documents, Specifications, Test Procedures, Test ReportsExperienceMinimum qualifications – the hired candidate must possess all of the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for the position including: BS Engineering with a major in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering5+ years relevant design experienceMultiple years’ experience as designer of electronic functions and sub-systems, including experience with working in multidisciplinary design teams to establish agreement on specifications.Requires experience in one or more of the following technical skillsDigital DesignDesign of digital data acquisition systemVHDL embedded code for FPGA logicA/D and or D/ATesting Validation and Verification (V&V) of requirementsAnalog DesignLow noise analog interface for sensor application; photonics sensorsPower amplifier design (motors / actuators)Capacitance gauge, LVDT interface designA/D and or D/ATesting Validation and Verification (V&V) of requirementsHigh Voltage (>1KV)Test Equipment DesignDevelopment of test equipment and test procedures to test and qualify analog and digital circuit boards or electronics racksImplementation of data acquisition hardware / softwareExperienced in LabViewHands-on working knowledge and experience with:Electronic Design AutomationE-CAD (preferably Mentor Graphics xDX/xPCB Designer)Circuit Simulation Tools (i.e. PSpice or other)Electronic Laboratory EquipmentMATLAB or similar modeling softwarePythonSoft skill requirementsQuality Focus and Ownership Mentality – desire to deliver top quality at the right cost, right timeStrong English Communication Skills – both written and oralTechnical Presentation SkillsExperience presenting to executive leadership.Ability to provide technical arguments to influence directionExperience working in a project-oriented teamAbility to prioritize tasksProven technical mentorship skillsPersonal Skills Can observe and respond to people and situations and interact with others encountered in the course of work.Can learn and apply new information or skills.Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents.Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction through prioritization, quality, efficiency and professionalism.Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.Proven ability to perform effectively in a demanding environment with changing workloads.Result driven-demonstrate ownership and accountability.Identifies bottlenecks and drives improvements.Work independently or as part of a team and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision.Demonstrate open, clear, concise and professional communication.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and customer.Work according to a strict set of procedures within the provided timelines.Other informationThis position is located on-site in Wilton, CT. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.A flexible workplace arrangement may be available to employees working in roles conducive to remote work (up to two days a week).Essential Job FunctionsThe essential job functions for this position include, but are not limited to:Work in a fast-paced office environment, including working in a standing or seated position for long periods of up to 12 hours per day, 5 days per week.Commute to CLIENTS’s facility and report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete the scheduled workday on a consistent basis.Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
