House monitor supervises the residents of The Brian Conley Veterans Resiliency Center in Middletown, DE. Under the direct supervision of the Operations Supervisor, the House Monitor (HM) provides direct services to the residents of the transitional living facility. Documents and reports to the Operations Supervisor on all matters relating to residents and daily operations of the facility. Documents and reports to Operations Supervisor all rule violations, client concerns, complaints, and general feedback relating to their residency. There are 3 full-time/part-time positions available for day shift, evening shift and night shift.

Duties and responsibilities

A. Supervision of resident activities

1. Ensures assigned chores are completed by residents.

2. Ensures accessibility to food storage pantry, if necessary.

3. Ensures curfew and other house rules are enforced.

4. Ensures support is provided to residents and makes appropriate referrals.

5. Ensures safety and security checks are performed at designated times.

6. Ensures bed checks are performed at designated times.

7. Ensures residents are transported to approved appointments and work sites, reports any passenger rule violations or incidents.

8. Assist with daily incoming donations and visitors

9. Communicates with the Case Manager regarding resident observations or issues as necessary.

10. Assists Case Manager as requested.

11. Proactively reports pending resident issues to Operations Supervisor.

B. Operations/Documentation

1. Monitor food pantry and storage.

2. Records events promptly, accurately, and clearly in log book.

3. Ensures residents utilize sign in/out procedures.

4. Ensures that residents follow emergency procedures in case of an emergency.

5. Conducts a daily check of the facility to ensure unnecessary lights are off, all appliances are turned off and windows and doors are secure.

6. When directed, conducts training of new HM

8. Provides feedback to the Operations Supervisor regarding training of new HM

C. Personal

1. Models appropriate behavior.

2. Represents shelter in a positive manner when greeting visitors, board members, etc.

3. Observes professional guidelines.

4. Contributes observations and ideas for improving policies and procedures pertaining to the daily operation of the shelter.

11. Repetitive Motions: Ability to move wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive motion.

12. Writing: Able to complete documentation by the means of the written words. Clearly and accurately.

13. Lifting: Must be able to lift as least 20 pounds.
