We are looking for an experienced front-end/full stack developer to
spearhead the implementation of all of our exciting new ideas. You won't be just
fixing bugs or maintaining existing codebase - you will be building exciting new
features, analyzing metrics, re-designing complex interfaces, and making
important technical and product decisions. There is a huge opportunity for growth as we scale.
Bottom line: we are an engineering-focused company. Our founders are engineers and the
majority of our team members are developers. Our team is flat in hierarchy, so
you will have more autonomy over your code and have creative license to do your best work.
What does day-to-day look like?
Build and iterate on static websites and interactive web applications
Write reliable, modular, scalable and well-tested code
Review teammates' code in a timely and thorough fashion
Create tools, and build processes to keep team velocity high
Optimize performance and browser compatibility
Be able to communicate your implementation ideas clearly
Be pragmatic, considerate, and open to new ideas
Inspire innovation and cultivate an environment of continuous improvements
Ensure technical decisions support our goals of quality, scalability, reliability,
security and high performance
What qualifications will set me up for success?
5+ years of experience building web applications and working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment as a Front End, or Full stack engineer
A strong desire to research and study new emerging technologies for consideration in future and ongoing development efforts
What are the minimum requirements?
Bachelor's in computer science or similar subject.
Exceptional HTML, XHTML, CSS programming skills (HTML5 and CSS3).
Exceptional JavaScript programming skills.
Exceptional Bootstrap coding skills.
Hands on Experience with JQuery.
Excellent understanding of the user-experience with an eye for visual design.
Hands on experience developing cross-browser, cross-platform responsive
design is a must.
Knowledge of JSON, XML, PHP and common JS frameworks (such as
Angular.js).
Experience integrating with server-side code to produce dynamic pages.
Experience thoroughly testing (unit and integration) code to make it rock solid
using third-party testing tools and frameworks.
Experience working with version control systems such as GIT, Bitbucket, etc.
Strong experience in AJAX techniques.
Experience or contribution to high-profile open-source projects
Pluses:
Experience building RESTful APIs
Experience with MYSQL, Python.
Experience with LINUX servers.
Experience in low network bandwidth environments.
Experience in building scalable, load balanced web applications
Experience in mobile app development
Previous startup work experience
