Job Description
This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy equipment. It helps the Company succeed by limiting delays and completing jobs in a timely fashion.
Equipment ranges from Back Hoes, Cranes, Dozers, Loaders, Excavators, Dump Trucks, and basically anything Construction related.
Duties and Tasks:
Pre-deliver, inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment
Order parts and prepare repair estimates
Prepare accurate inspection and service reports and maintain other records as required.
Complete jobs within Company's guidelines
Keep work areas clean and orderly
Work in a safe manner
Comply with company policies and government regulations
Physical Requirements:
Capable of moving objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
Able to maneuver on/under heavy equipment
Maneuver over irregular terrain
Able to operate a motor vehicle day and night
Working Conditions:
Hazards from electrical, mechanical and power equipment
Risk of exposure to chemicals such as steam cleaner soap, used oil, spent antifreeze, parts cleaning solvent, volatile hydrocarbons, battery acid
Extremes of weather
Mists, fumes and non-continuous noises of varying sound level and intensities
Dust from grinding machines
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Vocation or technical degree and/or equivalent work experience or training
Strong communication skills
Basic math skills
Self-motivated
Knowledge of Service department operations and heavy equipment technology
Willing to take a background and drug test.
