For more information, please visit www.guidehouse.com. ResponsibilitiesManaging Consultants own client engagements from cultivation to completion. In this role, you will be accountable for supporting or leading a project team and support the day-to-day management of the client relationship. You are expected to effectively develop and manage work plans, staffing, deadlines and budgets for multiple complex projects simultaneously. Work products are expected to be high-quality and client-ready. In this visible role, you will lead team meetings, and guide, manage, and coach consultants and senior consultants, providing constructive feedback on project participation and overall career development. Managing Consultants work closely with Directors and Managing Directors to keep them abreast of project progress and important developments. Managing Consultants support sales initiatives and practice development. Responsibilities Include: Supporting workstreams that enable the assessment, development, and enhancement of NERC Compliance improvements, particularly within the context the O&P Standards, business strategies, operating plans, business processes, organizational structures, and supporting infrastructure for clients.

Applying internal compliance, risk management, and operations knowledge to support the design of client deliverables.

Applying technical competencies “on the ground” with clients.

Communicating solutions and new strategies to clients through reports and presentations.

Performing data collection, intelligence analysis, statistical & risk analyses in support of project objectives.

Providing detailed fact finding, research, and analysis to further support delivery.

QualificationsRequired: 7+ Years in utility operations or regulatory specialist or in a position at regulatory body overseeing utility operations (e.g., WECC, NERC, FERC, BCUC, IESO MACD, AESO)

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, utility operations, or related discipline

Demonstrated working proficiency in the O&P NERC Reliability Standards

Strong project management skills

Strong communications skills, including both written and verbal

Strong critical analysis and problem-solving skills

Highly developed organizational and management skills

Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities without diminished effectiveness

This position is open virtually to candidates from across Canada; Salt Lake City, UT; San Francisco, and Los Angeles, CA

Preferred:

7+ years working experience as a consultant (external/Internal) or management consultant to include experience working directly with clients.

Experience as standard owner or standard lead before and during compliance audit

Expertise in the O&P Standards and comfort or familiarity with the CIP Standards

Deep understanding of FAC, PRC, TOP Standards

NERC Certified System Operator i.e., at least one of the following licenses or Certifications: System Operator (RC, TOP, etc), P.E.
