Job DescriptionThe Future Talent Program features internships that last up to 12 weeks and will include one or more projects. These opportunities in manufacturing can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals.The Manufacturing Science and Technology Organization within the Manufacturing Division is a collection of over 2,000 scientists and engineers working in a diverse set of roles to enable world-class supply chains for the Company's inventions in Pharmaceuticals, Biologics, Vaccines, and Animal Health.The intern program is a 10 to 12 week internship, which will include one or more projects. This experience will provide you with great opportunity to develop yourself both technically and professionally. You will get to engage our Company's business and culture to see if we are the right company for your long-term career goals.The projects that you work in can be in one of the following three areas:PROCESS & ANALYTICAL DEVELOPMENT & CHARACTERIZATION, SCALE UP, AND LAUNCH· Work in teams to bring research discoveries to full production scale by applying engineering, chemistry and pharmaceutics skills to bench-scale processes.· Conceive, develop and implement new manufacturing and analytical technologies.· Work with teams to develop processes for new products, using chemically- or biologically- derived products· Work with teams to develop and optimize analytical methods used for new products· Support process technology transfer to commercial operations groupsEQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION· Design and build advanced manufacturing plants, laboratory and office facilities· Involvement with all phases of project management from the first engineering drawing to the last phase of project start up· Utilize computer programming and data analytics tools to design the manufacturing processes and facilities of the futureIN-LINE PRODUCT SUPPORT· Work with operations and quality groups to maintain products at a high level of performance· Transfer products within the Company's internal and external manufacturing network· Execute strategic projects to enhance our World Class Supply posture – decrease inventory, shorten cycle times, lower costsPosition Qualifications :Education Minimum Requirement: Currently in Sophomore or Junior level curriculum, working toward B.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or related fieldRequired Experience and Skills:· Available for a minimum of 10 week internship beginning 26-May-2020 or 01-Jun-2020· Superior technical competency as demonstrated by excellent academic record and work achievement· Strong communication skills, personal character, and ethics· U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident of U.S.Preferred Experience and Skills:· Previous process development, research, or manufacturing experience preferred.· Strong project management skills· Ability to work independently or in teams.· Strong communication skills.· For a few positions, we are looking for interns with demonstrated skills in computer programming and/or data science & data analyticsFTP2020We are a research-driven biopharmaceutical company.
