JOB SUMMARY:Supervise the day-to-day activities in cocoa processing plant. This position will manage the receipt of raw materials and activities related to the delivery of finished products to customers as well as overseeing the maintenance and security of the building. Oversee the performance of permanent and temporary employees.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Ensures that all equipment and machinery is ready for production prior to the start of the shift Maintains inventory and coordinates with to ensure that product lots are pulled accurately for production runs. Monitors production progress and works with Production Manager to ensure targets are reached. Able to run the mills independently Proficient in running the cookers, including adjusting for moisture Able to troubleshoot equipment during a power outage Process shipments of materials for customers (1st Shift only) Assures the effective completion and documentation of SSOP walkthroughs, raw material receiving, and when necessary, raw product testing and finished product testing. Off loads multiple floor-to-ceiling stacked bags of cocoa powder. Takes action when, review of records indicates non-conformance to food safety requirements and/or product quality specifications, including placing products on hold, scheduling re-testing of products and product cuttings, coordinating sample receipt and analysis, and ensuring all actions taken are properly documented. Supervise employees, both permanent and temporary, during the shift ensuring that employees are meeting production goals, following GMPs and are punctual. Discuss any issues that require disciplinary action with Production Manager. Oversees the maintenance and security of the building, property, and inventory. Comply with all plant regulations including GMPs and SQF as well as all applicable state and federal regulations, including but not limited to OSHA, EPA, FDA and HACCP. Conducts monitoring activities to assure finished product comply with food safety and quality specifications. Participates in the yearly review of the food safety system.
