Guidehouse supports a large, innovative federal government program in their Innovation and External Outreach strategy development and implementation. We are looking for a highly motivated Innovation Strategy professional with Program Management experience to join our team and play a leading role in enabling the program to maintain an edge to execute its highly impactful mission.

Guidehouse contributes to the program's innovation team's culture and mindset within the program to shepherd new capabilities from introduction to adoption and through maturity. Team members will work with various internal elements of the program as well as external stakeholders via a forum called the Innovation Working Group (IWG). The IWG is a Shark Tank-like quarterly meeting where innovators from within the program present ideas to program leadership for approval and funding. The innovation team works with innovators from the time they submit their idea though prototyping and initial delivery to formal inclusion in the program's toolkit.

The core responsibilities of team members include:
  • Working with the chief and d/chief for innovation to execute all aspects of the innovation mission and take action to keep the various capability explorations moving forward
  • Perform capability exploration for tools and methodologies that would benefit the program; this includes working closely with the internal elements of the program to understand challenges and research on external capabilities that may address these challenges
  • Perform due diligence on external capabilities that are identified; this includes external research and compliance with internal due diligence processes
  • Conduct external outreach to partners to identify, socialize, and facilities the adoption of capabilities beneficial to the program
    • Identify full spectrum of capabilities (knowledge, skillsets, and methodologies) that can potentially be applied to the program
    • Identify inventors and early adopters of new and emerging technologies - particularly in the areas of analysis and finance
  • Champion various internal and external innovation efforts for the program
    • Following the identification of a capability, work closely with program elements to overcome any obstacle to adoption
    • Work closely with IWG proposal teams to mentor them on the innovation process and shepherd their ideas from inception through prototyping and delivery
    • Liaise with various stakeholders both within and outside the program to enable a smooth adoption of new capabilities
Qualifications

The following qualifications are REQUIRED to be considered for this role:
  • An ACTIVE and CURRENT TS/SCI clearance with a FULL SCOPE (or Lifestyle) polygraph
  • Minimum years of experience: Three (3)+ years
  • Degree(s) Preferred: Bachelor's degree
The following skills/knowledge/experience is preferred:

Program Management Experience
  • Technical Experience (e.g. RF, analysis tools, etc)
  • Personal integrity and leadership by example, with a track record of working well without close supervision and the ability to effectively deal with peers, subordinates, and senior colleagues, including those from other government agencies
  • Track record of flexibility and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
  • Innovative mindset; resolve to support innovative ideas even in the face of obstacles and potential resistance from stakeholders
  • Proactive approach to work; taking initiative to identify and execute tasks with a Program Management rigor that furthers the innovation team's mission
Desired Experience:
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills; critical thinking skills; and attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage a large portfolio and work with little oversight
  • Ability to prioritize, track, and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
