AVP Contract and Grants Growth

Th e AVP, Contracts and Grants Growth is responsible for new sales, business development and diversification of the externally funded contract and grants portfolio to support our vision of better health and healthcare. This position will require a sophisticated understanding of the needs of key external stakeholders and funders, and the federal/state agencies for which funding is available to support work in our area of expertise in assessing and improving the quality of health care services.

The long-term expectation includes successfully expanding the existing portfolio to meet revenue and growth targets. The AVP will work with a broad slate of external contractors/subcontractors and expand reach to other agencies including the Defense Health Agency (DHA), Veteran's Health Administration (VHA), Indian Health Service (IHS) , the CDC and others. This position also involves working closely with other internal department s including federal Affairs, Product Development, and Corporate & Foundation Relations to create and implement the organizations strategy to develop new lines of business or enhance existing business.

This position is a full-time direct hire position allowing for hybrid/partial telecommute status for candidates living within a reasonable commute of the office headquarters in the DC area. There is no sponsorship or corp to corp arrangements available for this position.

Responsibilities of the AVP :

Develop contracts and grants growth strategy to:
  • Achieve YoY sales, revenue growth, portfolio value and diversification targets
  • Engage federal agencies including DHA, VHA, IHS , and CDC
  • Identify and partner with appropriate consulting firms and other health care industry sectors
  • Identify and pursue potential leads, qualify opportunities, establish an action plan for pursuit
  • Enlist the support of SMEs to position services and maintain active involvement throughout the procurement cycle
Lead Business Development team to :
  • I dentify prime and subcontracting pursuits
  • D evelop and implement strategic capture plans for identified opportunities
  • M anage updates to marketing materials
  • B uild network of teaming partners via strategic relationships
Play a leadership role in managing proposal discussions and prioritizing opportunities to ensure optimal impact for the organization.

Requirements of the AVP:

  • MBA or master's degree in a health-related field preferred. Bachelor's degree with significant relevant work history will be considered.
  • 10+ years of experience in progressively responsible positions involving relevant health care services business development and meeting sales targets.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing and securing new business across IHS, CDC, HHS, VA, and military health systems.
  • High level of health care industry knowledge
  • Successful business development capture planning experience
  • Strategic planning and able to work towards a common goal and mission
  • Excellent communication skills, attentive to detail, ad highly organized
  • Collaborative and team player attitude
