This commitment harnesses our expertise in business, policy and philanthropy, charting a path forward toward a more equitable future.Department:Community Engagement (CE), part of Corporate Responsibility (CR)'s Public Engagement team, supports this mission by building enduring, authentic relationships with key stakeholders to shape the firm's approach to serving clients, customers and communities. The CE team covers all 48 contiguous states and works particularly closely with nonprofit organizations focused on increasing economic inclusion for under-resourced communities.CE is seeking an Associate to support the team's policy and strategic initiatives, expanding our project management, communications, and research capabilities and coordination across the department and firm. In addition, the Associate will identify opportunities and support events that help connect firmwide and local efforts to bolster the firm's impact and reputation in the communities we serve. The Associate will be based in Washington, DC, report to the Deputy Head of Community Engagement, and work closely with the Executive Team, market-based teams and key internal partners.The Associate will bring to the role an understanding of consumer policy, financial regulatory issues, and economic and community development; knowledge of policymaking process and key community influencers such as advocates, policy and civil rights organizations; an interest in the complex interdependencies of large financial services organizations and the communities they serve; and experience leveraging multi-media platforms and tools and support for events and campaigns.ResponsibilitiesPolicy & Strategic InitiativesSupport the Executive Team with the development and execution of department initiatives, such as business and scenario planning, cross-department integration, and data analysis and reporting

Provide project management, communications, and desk research support for priority projects, including: issue-based campaigns, rapid response coordination to reputational risks, coordination with Government Relations on elected official engagement, and Expanded Impact Strategy

Track relevant policy and legislative developments in priority markets and develop memorandums, primers, and talking points

Help identify specific topics, speakers, and materials to continue to cultivate the team's knowledge and expertise on priority issues

Develop targeted, issues-based campaigns in key markets leveraging firmwide assets and tools to build awareness for the firm's positive community impact

Maintain multi-media tracking tools, flag emerging insights and opportunities for proactive engagement

Manage a list of internal CR and line of business stakeholders in order to facilitate outreach, local engagement and participation in key events

Operations & Events ManagementWork proactively to maintain a "big picture" view of the CR Department and key firmwide partners to identify opportunities for improved collaboration, coordination, and impact

Promote information flow internally and externally, represent team on select internal working groups, with overall responsibility for coordinated operations

Co-manage the team's integration into Salesforce and optimization of SharePoint and other platforms as needed

Support the execution of priority events and engagements, including invitation and attendee management; storytelling and speaker engagement; development of PowerPoint slide decks, briefing books, and talking points; and other logistics as needed

Identify team processes that can be improved and work with market-based teams to complement their efforts and enhance their effectiveness

Administrative Partnership

Support the administration of operations budget and engagement with consultants and suppliers; coordinate across the CE team to manage vendor relationships

As needed, support the management of select grant partner relationships, including communicating with grantees and shepherding applications through the grant lifecycle

Qualifications3-5 years of experience in community relations, nonprofit, public affairs, and/or public policy

Excellent organizational and project management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities and projects

Strong written and verbal communications skills

Experience presenting to and communicating with senior leadership

Able to work with minimal supervision (individually and in teams), shares information and supports colleagues

Integrity and strong work ethic

Proven ability to multi-task in an intense, fast-paced environment, using initiative to keep projects moving

Creative, flexible and collaborative with an ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment; demonstrates a high degree of initiative; results-oriented, high level of attention to detail and deadlines

Willingness to innovate and look for new approaches to processes and practices

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and an ability to develop complex PowerPoint presentations

Working knowledge of Salesforce and SharePoint preferred but not required

Occasional domestic travel as determined to be safe and necessary

Understanding of large financial services organizations and the communities they serve
