Job Description

Creative Studios (CS) is Fannie Mae’s full service in-house creative team within the Marketing and Communications Division. The Digital Asset Management (DAM) Librarian manages creative digital assets and is skilled at content and digital asset management (i.e. taxonomy, indexing, cataloguing, archiving, metadata tagging, video b-roll logging, stock imagery and footage research, usage rights, content management systems). This role strategically implements and manages the DAM tool which will house all final creative and marketing assets, including, but not limited to, graphic design elements, social media, photography, video, podcasts, music and other internal and external facing content.

This person will need to work with Creative Studios DAM system users (project and social media managers, graphic designers, video producers, editors, animators) to support their use and navigation and ensure easy access and usability. The DAM librarian will be the first point of contact for the users and will need to work collaboratively to understand their processes, the content and content types they are searching for with respect to metadata, taxonomy and usage.

This position will help establish process/user management standards, including best practice metadata, taxonomy, permissions and workflows for Creative Studios.

This role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage and develop global Fannie Mae taxonomy, metadata, andclassification standards for all digital assetsto deliver quality content readily accessible and searchable for different requirements
  • Manage ingestion, storage, integration,cataloging, and delivery of assets whilecontinuously looking for efficiencies inthese processes​
  • Research, identify, and pull DAM assets for creative producers and projects, with an understanding of varied creative needs and sensibilities.
  • Lead the development, use, andadministration of the DAM andassociated workflows​, standard operating procedures for asset upload, download, renditioning, publishing and deactivation across DAM
  • Dedicate time to quality improvement and proactively suggest assets to capture or produce to fill gaps in visual library.
  • Serve as liaison to marketing technology, web and social teams from the broader digital asset management system collaboration, interaction points and hand offs
  • Manage legal restrictions, rights, andapproved usage​
  • Properly select and annotate a large volume of media into the digital asset management system to facilitate retrieval and use in production
  • Evaluate digital assets for archiving, research rights issues and maintain quality control of archiving operations
  • Act as the point of contact for all final assets, work with producers and post production team on closing out and archiving projects.
  • Manage user groups, security, andpermissions​
  • Train Creative Studios team members on proper usage and best practices of the DAM system
  • Manage special operations assignments, which can include, but are not limited to, training and development, project management and executing reporting
  • Consult with key stakeholders and full Creative Studios production team on content usage and rights management of assets

Qualifications

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Experience

  • Minimum of four years of professional level experience, at least two of which are in a DAM librarian role
  • Demonstrated familiarity with metadata standards, communication standards and classifying systems
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS)
  • Strongly prefer candidates with experience in digital archives
  • Broad knowledge of library tools, systems and resources in corporate organizations
  • Solid technology background, including MS Office Suite software, and familiarity with trends in delivery of electronic information
  • Strong understanding of and ability to communicate usage rights
  • Understanding of the full creative production process, including image formatting, editing techniques, and terminology.

  • Rights management experience, includingunderstanding of usage restrictions, expiration,and distribution​
  • Keeps informed of the latest Digital AssetManagement technology trends andinnovations​
  • Understands highly technical terminology withability to synthesize concepts to non-technicalcreatives
  • Appreciation and general understanding of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience administering cloud-based file sharing services (Box, Dropbox)
  • Experience administering DAM platform technology (

    AcquiaDAM, preferred)
  • Proven project management / IT integration experience (Workfront, Drupal, preferred)
  • Ability to make process and structure recommendations based on both technical and creative needs
