Job Description

Role:The Zscaler

Federal Field Marketing Manageris responsible for developing strategically focused marketing activities and programs designed to support the sales process from prospecting to close and up-sell. Crucial to this role is to have a deep understanding of the Federal market and aid in the creation of marketing strategy and content to target the Federal segment. The Field Marketing Managers are tightly aligned to the sales team and continually evaluate against quarterly goals to ensure positive contributions are being made to develop new business pipeline.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the pain points and business challenges for the Federal business, acting as the primary marketing contact. Collaborate with the global marketing segment lead, local leaders, sales functions and the partner team to align marketing, make business recommendations and ensure targets are met.
  • Work closely with the broader marketing functions to coordinate integrated programs for your target accounts.
  • Track pipeline and other KPI’s weekly and report on marketing’s contribution to engagements, new business meetings, pipeline and customer success. Analyze performance, spot trends and lead change for continuous improvement.
  • Work with sales and the global team to identify target accounts, build quality contact data and account intelligence to create a solid foundation for marketing programs.
  • Use marketing tools and technology to uncover new and recently engaged contacts and accounts. Alert Sales Development Representatives and Regional Sales Reps, adding value with business insights and recommendations for follow-up.
  • Combine corporate communications and campaigns with a calendar of local marketing to create a comprehensive, multi-channel, quarterly marketing program that meets objectives. Communicate news and updates weekly to ensure that field teams are aware of and making full use of each program.
  • Invest time to understand the product portfolio, use cases, customer stories and content library, leveraging available resources for timely, relevant outreach. Feed competitive information, local developments and content requirements back to product marketing and content teams to help drive the product and content roadmap.
  • Develop and execute a scalable approach to segment events, and manage a calendar of segment specific Zscaler events, industry events, thought leadership roundtables, partner events and webinars.
  • Develop and execute innovative local campaigns with highly personalized experiences that surprise and delight targets, educate and engage.
  • Set the highest standards for campaign and event management, ensuring brand guidelines are adhered to and projects are managed to meticulous detail end-to-end to deliver outstanding innovation, communications, efficiency and customer experience.
  • Take accountability for the results and ROI of every project, tracking each program on an ongoing basis to ensure closed-loop lead follow-up and conversion. Work with field teams and operations to link and attribute marketing programs to pipeline and revenue.
  • Research, select and negotiate external vendor services. Managing external partners and agencies as an extended team, setting the same high standards for planning, execution and deliverables.
  • Manage projects against goals and to budgets. Update budgets and reports weekly.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree with MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of field marketing and federal/public sector experience
  • Proven experience in driving regional marketing and a history of achieving pipeline goals
  • Demonstrated success in developing strategies for creating new customer markets through omni-channel marketing programs.
  • Prior B2B product marketing experience in enterprise software and or SaaS technology preferred
  • Domain expertise in Security and Networking a plus, not required
  • Superb communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to craft compelling and succinct positioning, messaging and differentiation.
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator
  • A unique combination of technical skill, creative marketing execution, and critical thinking
  • Results-oriented with a “can do” positive approach who can think outside the box and problem solve often in difficult situations
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with the ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with customers and all levels of management
