The Airband team is looking for a Global Digital Equity Strategist to help advance and develop strategies to enable digital equity (broadband access, broadband adoption, and digital skills) domestically and globally. The Global Digital Equity Strategist will identify and track the key broadband access, adoption and broader technology trends globally to enable broadband access and adoption globally and collaborate across Microsoft to ensure the right teams are engaged. The candidate will coordinate key stakeholders across both the private and public sectors to drive impact, working with multi-functional hybrid teams.Designs strategies to engage policymakers and influencers (at US and global level) and establish partnerships with industry thought leaders that can advocate and advance Microsoft's digital equity programmatic.

Analyzes global digital equity policies and developments, to proactively advance regulatory and public policy priorities, in partnership with internal Microsoft domestic and global government affairs teams, that create a favorable environment for business and innovation in alignment with Microsoft's company-wide mission and digital equity strategy.

Gathers intelligence and assists in the preparation of position papers, policy briefings, presentations, and testimony for relevant pending actions by relevant legislative, executive or other government and NGO entities.

Partners with internal partners and stakeholders to establish holistic, global digital equity frameworks and craft messages that enhance the company's reputation and communicates corporate positions and objectives to enhance coordination with strategic government, NGO, non-profit, and industry partners.

ResponsibilitiesStrategy/Program ManagementDevelops strategic goals for and executes Microsoft corporate social responsibility (e.g., philanthropies, accessibility, sustainability) initiatives and/or programs.

Formulates Microsoft’s corporate social responsibility (e.g., philanthropies, accessibility, sustainability) initiatives and/or topics.

Advises on and responds to key corporate social responsibility (e.g., philanthropies, accessibility, sustainability) strategic issues and recommends well thought-out actions by prioritizing, ensuring alignment with stakeholder positions, leveraging specialists, or escalating matters.

Shapes Microsoft's policy agenda that addresses complex societal issues and business priorities.

Identifies and recommends corporate social responsibility (e.g., philanthropies, accessibility, sustainability) initiatives to address complex local, regional, national, and global community and civic engagement needs in alignment with Microsoft's corporate social responsibility standards.

Develops and manages corporate social responsibility (e.g., philanthropies, accessibility, sustainability) programs and/or initiatives that build resiliency, self-sufficiency, and opportunities for individuals and communities.

Develops and manages matrixed, highly complex project timelines, budgets, and plans for corporate social responsibility (e.g., philanthropies, accessibility, sustainability) programs.

Develops processes to facilitate program development, outreach, and execution, and assesses feasibility of program extension to other internal and external communities.

Business, Technical, and Societal ExpertiseDevelops and/or recommends highly impactful solutions for advancing Microsoft corporate social responsibility (e.g., philanthropies, accessibility, sustainability) agenda, while managing risks and consequences.

Identifies and gathers resources across internal and external communities to ensure a positive impact of corporate social responsibility (e.g., philanthropies, accessibility, sustainability) initiatives.

Representing MicrosoftCommunicates Microsoft’s perspective on key strategic corporate social responsibility (e.g., philanthropies, accessibility, sustainability) issues and garners the support of influential internal and external stakeholders to advance Microsoft’s CSR agenda.

Influences and contributes to the messaging and communications strategy as a spokesperson to ensure programs are integrated into internal and external stakeholder messaging.

Understands and applies detailed knowledge of Microsoft and Corporate and Legal Affairs strategies to drive results and program integrity.

Develops recommendations for how Microsoft products and software can be used to solve societal issues and create opportunities in the community.

Participates in large internal and external events to advocate for Microsoft corporate social responsibility (e.g., philanthropies, accessibility, sustainability) programs.

External RelationshipsIdentifies and manages partnerships (e.g., nonprofit, international, advocacy, academic) to advance corporate social responsibility (e.g., philanthropies, accessibility, sustainability) development programs.

Implements improvements to corporate social responsibility (e.g., philanthropies, accessibility, sustainability) initiatives based on community and stakeholder feedback.

Internal CollaborationServes as a strategic partner for corporate social responsibility by supporting business development opportunities and assisting in navigating, minimizing, or removing roadblocks in order to drive business results.

Participates in and/or leads intra-group and/or cross-group projects and ensures accountability by leveraging project management approaches.

Escalates intra- and cross-group misalignment as needed.

Proactively collaborates with and influences internal stakeholders across functions to ensure a mutual understanding and alignment of objectives, priorities, and resources.

QualificationsRequired/Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree AND 7+ years experience in corporate social responsibility, philanthropies, corporate affairs, or related area

OR 10+ years experience in corporate social responsibility, philanthropies, corporate affairs, or related area.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications12+ years experience in corporate social responsibility, philanthropies, corporate affairs, or related area.In-house counsel experience

3+ years experience managing a corporate social responsibility or related program.

3+ years experience working in or with a large, matrixed organization.

Experience identifying and tracking the key technology policy trends globally

Experience developing strategies to enable digital equity (broadband access, broadband adoption, and digital skills)
